A Facebook notification about an event I may be interested in... it's an Optimisey event... that I set-up.
When Meta's notifications work almost *too* well...?

I appreciate you rather a lot Mr. Smart. โค๏ธ

๐ฟ๏ธ The secret squirrel project I've been working on is nearly ready.
๐ฆ Ducks in rows are aligning. It's going to be awesome.
๐ For now... you might wanna keep the evening of Thursday 23rd April free...
Lots of misinformation still flying around our SEO space so I dug into some of the possible causes and the current category conflicts and wrote them up following my presentation at Women in Technical SEO.

Ah, dev'ing like a parent. A classic. ๐
Happiest of happy birthdays to genuinely one of the nicest guys in the marketing industry: @mordyoberstein.bsky.social.
I don't even have anything sarcastic or cutting to say (it's his birthday... normal service will resume tomorrow).
Happy birthday Mordy! ๐
Just when I'm wondering if fewer folks will need #SEO help after all...
I help someone wondering why they're having trouble ranking.
Turns out their developer canonicalised ALL the pages to the homepage.
Yes. All of them.
To the homepage.
A pathway flanked by daffodils
The world is a troubling place right now. It weighs heavy.
So I try and focus on "make my corner of the world better", influence the things I can.
This weekend was 1 of about 15 volunteers helping clear a new nature reserve.
And today the daffodils on our allotment look marvellous.

Spring has reached the allotment! While the beds might be mostly empty, reams of daffodils are blooming. (I take no credit they were planted by previous custodian of the plot).
So to clarify: the OFFICIAL White House social media, doctored a video to make it appear that a man who lives and works in Canada, insulted and swore about Canadians.

I continue to be shocked, daily, at how low standards are in the Trump Presidency.
Went to see ๐ฅ The Secret Agent last night.
Broadly, I didn't like it.
It was beautifully filmed, the colours, nostalgia and acting were very good.
But I felt like I was clutching at threads in the plot... and kept missing.
๐ When Chrome's "What's new!" tab demos the "Read out loud in Chrome"... it says "Red out loud".
#humblebrag ๐
(and belated happy birthday, obviously!)
Ugh, that was wince-inducingly bad.
And the stuff about "One of our best players was Eusebio" -- like international scale: "I can't be racist! Some of my best friends are black!"
๐๐๐
More football teams "disgusted" by racist abuse their players receive.
Until the consequences for the perpetrators match the outrage I fear this will continue.
Could you sync it with the BBC radio comms?
And to think that there was talk of a Grand Slam. ๐
Reality check: delivered.

Feeling like this is another good week to remember my Irish roots. โ๏ธ>๐น
What @simoncox.com said but also, flexibility and continual learning.
For #1 there is no 'one size fits all' SEO solution. Knowing when, why and how to flex is critical to success.
For #2, much like SEO if you stand still you're going backwards.
I've struggled to put into words my feelings on Google and their relationship with the digital world.
Previously it felt like there was an, at times begrudging, mutual respect. It was a symbiotic relationship.
Now $GOOG's focus seems much more on 'winning AI' and $$$. Everything else? Collateral.
The 'Weight of the World' dread is real. Having a tough few days myself.
I try to remind myself of the good things in my life and to focus on improving the things I can to make my lil' corner a happier, fairer, better place.
Because... what else can you do?!
Stat for extra fun: The population of Monaco (where Radcliffe lives) is 76% migrants.
So... it's not really about migrants, is it Jim? It never was.
