Hi to our new followers! It was extremely cool to meet some of you at Worldcon.
Short Fiction Book Club is a collection of nerds who love short fiction. Twice a month from fall to spring (outside of our Hugo Readalong project), we pick a few stories around a common theme and discuss them.
Oh, I understand that. Fields, even if they're fairly quiet, are bad habitats. Pastures, though, which are preferred here since it's a lower impact on the farmer/rancher, can be decent habitat depending on the circumstances.
But it's not like they're destroying prime native prairie

this is a genuine question I've had for a while living near wind turbines. Do we have any data regarding the impact the noise pollution has on the local environment?
I'd imagine it's still less harmful than coal, but there are places it's just never quiet anymore.

Favorites are hard, but William Pauley III has written some incredible Weird fiction. The Ballad of Old Joe Booth is pretty great (along with the rest of the Bedlam Bible series)
I didn't write an award this time, but many of the others in the SFBC did. And they're great! But not as great as the stories we're highlighting
