Why does figma fail so hard to be flexible when it comes to variables and styles?
There are many scenarios when you need to preserve 99% of the properties and modify only a single property, like font weight.
Style overrides are not manageable.
Does anyone use variables modes in @figma.com for setting the font weights?
That would be useful, but only if works as expected:
1. Use my design system.
2. Do not generate broken layouts.
3. Do not make me spend more time than actually doing it myself.
4. Make it easy to expand (consistently).
I would like to be able to sketch ideas in @figma.com the same as I do in @excalidraw.com.
I never feel the need to pixel peek in excalidraw, compared to figjam or figma.
Why would be awesome? Because I want to prototype very really.
I would be bias with Paster, or Resizer. 🫣
Also, what should I do to get access to AI on figma side on a specific account?
It sucks to have access on one account, but not on another.
@figma.com figjam ai is such a bad joke.
Here a few ideas of how to actually make it useful:
- format selected text automatically
- organize selection (layout)
- extract key findings from selection (mostly the text)
- create personas based on selection
- group selection by X factor
Any chances to allow installing it as PWA?
🔥 3 body problem series
Less than 10 days to update one of my plugins. 😅
Did you know that, in @figma.com, you can have Sections without a name?
Why? For organizing the components without introducing a sub-directory on the Assets panel.
@figma.com
Did you know that in Figjam, when you attempt to fit the content inside a Section, the arrows position is getting messed up?
This time I needed some #icons, but it seems that I'm slowly creating my own version derived from UI2 icons. 🫣
Designed them for 16px resolution. Yep, same problem as always - centering a 1px line. 😬
This is yet another temporary static cover while I seek the time and inspiration for a more refined one.
At the moment, my aim is to revamp all the visuals of my plugins to achieve simplicity and consistency.
The #plugin is available in the #figma community:

Used a rectangle as mask, right?
The cover of the plugin for Figma called Paster. The image is a bento style layout, each piece representing one of the features available in the plugin, e.g., pasting fills, strokes, width, height, opacity, corner radius, text characters, or even replacing elements.
🔥 #paster has just been updated with a new cover image! For the moment, it is static, but there are plans to animate it at some point.
I also intend to expand the available properties.

👀 Did you try this #plugin for #figma?
@figma.com
Are there any chances of extending "Set default properties" to affect Sections as well? 😊
It would be a great quality-of-life improvement in #figma.
Do you also experience a sort of fake "insane" syndrome with SaaS?
Especially when you encounter a silent update while using the service. For a moment, I have to review and investigate my entire world to conclude that the app has changed.
Oooor, I might just break down. 🤷♂️ 😅
Not iOS specific. I suppose it might a PWA, instead of native one.
The reply action is also duplicated.
The ability to eyedrop the style/variable is nice, but the new UI is difficult to follow and lacks precision.

✨ Did you know you can change the autolayout wrapping direction in @figma.com?
It's not a new trick, but I haven't seen it used like this anywhere yet.
