At the age of 42, I never thought my wife and I would be dipping our toes into the possibility of leaving the U.S. Sorry. I've got a 15yo son. I'm not going to be caught unprepared if something unthinkable happens, like a draft gets reinstated to send American kids to fight in another stupid war.

To be an ally is not to wear a pin on one’s jacket. It’s time to stand up between our trans friends and those that would seek to harm them. We don’t give them a fucking inch.
Words can save the world.
Just hanging out, thinking about my Animal Crossing Island, like a normal 43yo dude…
I literally can’t wait to not vote for John Fetterman.
The chairman of the company that is buying the #Pittsburgh Penguins says he's in early talks to buy the city's newspaper, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
David Hoffmann, chairman of the Hoffmann Family of Companies- the prospective new owner of the #Pittsburgh Penguins, told a panel during an event in St. Louis today that his company is exploring buying the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
When I was 5 or 6, my dad took me to Mickey Lolitch’s donut shop in Lake Orion. I vaguely remember him as being a giant man in every sense. But I vividly remember how kind he was and how special he made me feel to be a #Detroit Tigers fan. He was all class and he will be missed.
Things we love will always frustrate after some amount of time. But I've found the "fresh eyes and energy" approach always is a nice reset.
"Yeah- he was kind of dick..." they say about me after I croak at 95...
Take a break. Use the time to remember why you love doing it. The stories will be waiting for you when you come back.
It’s that time when the Fort Pitt Bridge is at a standstill because, for some reason, if you grew up in Pittsburgh, and lived here you’re whole life, you are physically unable to operate a motor vehicle if the ground is wet.
I wish I could talk to this guy. I wish I could get him to see that the years between 4-10 are magic. Magic that you can never recapture. My son is 15 now. He's a smart and capable young man and I am so proud of him. I wouldn't trade the time I got to spend with him as a little guy for anything.
It bothers me that there’s a generation of people who don’t know the joy of an ice-cold Ecto Cooler.

Pittsburgh Public School football is a vibe.
Any reporter who doesn’t voluntarily surrender their credentials is a shill.
All they do is lie anyway. It’s obviously harder, but you can report accurately and not be in the room.
A photo of a football that has been kicked so hard, the seam busted.
My 15yo son, who's played soccer for years, decided he wanted to go out for his high school's football team as a place kicker. We bought this football a month ago...
Let’s fix the broken world we’ve created. And once all the real problems are fixed, we can focus on the pretend problems that exist only to scare boomers, like trans kids playing sports.
Hard drinking is time travel. You drink, then at some point you blackout and wake up some time in the future with no idea how you got there…
Lol. I thought the whole thing was pretty harmless, but I’m from the Midwest where “Old man bar” is a legit genre of bar and a common term that people use as a descriptor. But I get people can get sensitive about things on the internet.
I am not exaggerating when I say that it has rained probably 47 or 48 of the last 50 days in #Pittsburgh….
My son is nearly 15 years old.
And every day I wonder if this will be the day
That he chooses not to give me a hug
And tell me he loves me.
Tonight I will go to bed,
Tired. Overworked. Beat down.
But happy
In the knowledge, that today will not be that day.
So…I almost ran over Lisa Loeb near Penn Ave. trying to find parking for Three Rivers Arts Fest in #Pittsburgh…
Full transparency: I only have one job, which is to parse through lots of information so I can make educated and informed decisions that will benefit the people that elected me, and I'm too lazy to do it.
