I’ve found that this both relaxes and grounds me, as having to focus on making sure literally every muscle is relaxed gives me something else to focus on aside from the tension spiral. Esp once i get down to my arms and hands, ive noticed that my aim steadies a bit. Hope this helps! :D
The method is to consciously focus on relaxing individual muscle groups starting at the head and working your way down. For example: start with the forehead and eyebrows, then unclench your jaw, relax your neck… so on and so forth until you’ve relaxed everything.
I have this method a past therapist taught me :> I often tense up when I make mistakes(esp in fast-paced games like Splatoon where there’s a lot going on)which creates a runaway effect where my tension messes with my aim and decision making, leading to more mistakes, which leads to more tension… 🥲
