The push for AI comes from leadership and execs though. An artist trying to use AI to cheat would not survive. You would be crucified if you tried to pass slop like the coca cola ad as your genuine work. It's only because of leadership forcing AI that it gets unlimited grace.
The problem with conceptual spit balling is that once something exists, its infinitely harder to imagine it being any other way. Especially when more gets built on top of it. The problem with placeholder music is a perfect example of how replacing the slop won't remove it.
The free form blue sky phase is the easiest and most fun part of the creation process and the thing AI is the absolute worst at. Why is THAT what you're using AI for?
The further upstream the use of AI in the creative process the worse the effect. It's kind of crazy to hear someone go "we're just using it for conceptualizing it's not going to be in the actual game" That means the game is going to be slop down to its very conceptual essence.
