A small vial of the original Pfizer COVID vaccine in my left had it has a red and black letters on a white label with grey bands.
Yesterday at the Stand Up for Science event in Columbus I spoke about Defend Public Health - Ohio.
At the end I handed out little COVID vaccine vials like this one and they were snatched up immediately by the college students.
You can compensate for a mediocre speech by including trinkets.

If allying yourself with an anti-vax lunatic and helping him gut public health in America while children die of vaccine-preventable diseases doesn’t get you expelled from academia, then the whole system is utterly broken.
As of Feb 2026, the NIH has still not received approval to spend any research funding. This is NOT saving Ohioans money and this is NOT democracy. See you there🫵
Need a reason to show up and fight tomorrow? Ohio has lost over $11 million in federal funding from the NIH. Funding research has been the United States' best investment for decades. In FY23, every $1 in NIH spending returns $2.46 in economic activity. (1/2)
And Cincinnati area folks can show their support to save science, protect health, and defend democracy at the solidarity pop-up in collaboration with Tesla Takedown on Saturday 3/7 from 11-1!

This is a very important story. Thank you @science.org for covering it.
Two critical points: 1. SIMPLE INVESTIGATION! 2. Notice how not being desperate for money leads people to use good judgement? This is why philanthropy isn't going to fix what Trump has done to our scientific ecosystem.
Honored to have this chance to stand up for science!
Hope to see you there… or be together in spirit at National Day of Action rallies across the country.

A brief Bluetorial about analyzing federal grant funding.
Both NIH and NSF make data available about funded grants, but each has its quirks and the data structures are VERY different.

You don’t praise the people who were unsuccessful in their attempts to fully dismantle a scientific infrastructure it took 80 years to build. You praise the people who successfully resisted some of the dismantling

Both chambers of Congress have now passed the FY26 minibus with NIH provisions. The President will sign.
(1) $48.7 billion for NIH
(2) Full IDC recovery
(3) No more multi-year funding
(4) No NIH reorganization, maintaining the current IC structure.
Everyone needs to know what the #BethesdaDeclaration is-
It is loud statement of dissent against leadership that has politicized research by halting high quality grants, disrupted work & interruption of global collaboration.
Being vocal is imperative now.
