My point is at Pearl Harbor and during the entire WW2, no actual US soil was attacked, so the US was only a "defender" by a technicality.
Also before that, the US was supplying weapons to both Ally and Axis countries.

Also Fort Sumter was the beginning of the US civil war, where America attacked America.
Ah yes, a war fleet stationed by a tiny island the US annexed lost 2000 soldiers, and in retaliation the US dropped the only two nuclear bombs used in war in history, killing 200.000 civilians, then lead the occupation of that country and forced a new, US-written, constitution on its people.
I think it started to go downhill after they brought back Kiryu. It's like they freaked out when their new protagonist wasn't instantly as popular as the old one with 7 games worth of history, and became desperate to recapture past glory. And now we have remakes and remasters instead of new games.
10/10 parenting right there. You should always come to your child's rescue with an orbital laser when they need you to
If you have the physical editions of the soundtrack. The names are not exactly widely published.
I'm just not convinced. There's too much witch hunting going on for me to assume that this is AI on suspicions alone, without evidence.
What were your first impressions of the vocalist? I was blown away by not just her technical skill as a singer but her expressiveness, and how she managed to bring a completely different feel to each of these pieces. She fully grasped the depth of these new arrangements, producing these crisp, powerful vocals and pouring carefully scripted emotion into her unique performances to highlight the arrangements' subtleties. I'm sure listeners will be thrilled with her takes on each of these compositions.
I don't know, this does not strike me as how you'd talk about an AI. It sounds to me like she's either relatively new to the scene or just wishes to remain (mostly) anonymous. A lot of game music vocalists are unknown, we barely know who sings a lot of the songs in FFXIV either.
How do we know it's AI? Did they say that?
I've been playing it for 10 years and the number of truly upsetting experiences I've had with other players can still be counted on the fingers of 2 hands. Meanwhile in WoW I was called all kinds of names and left for dead in my first dungeon because of a single "mistake" that wasn't even my fault.
That's good news!
However Gamesindustry really could do with a little more reporting on what's actually in the Initiative instead of just repeating what the detractors are saying.
For example, the assertion that SKG wants online games to be supported indefinitely, which is not at all true.
Honestly the more I hear about this game, the more my excitement wanes. I had a great time with Pirate Yakuza and I'm totally up for shenanigans and cameos, but there comes a point where events have to mean something. If I do buy this it's definitely not going to be day 1 at full price.
I am not a fan of the outfit, nor the timer. But I did enjoy that it was almost like a puzzle mission. Saying the right things to gain court approval, tracking down the right information to gain leverage over the right people, etc. I found it entertaining and worth doing, every time.
I don't think it would do much, tbh. In my experience the times you would queue for a specific dungeon vs queuing for roulette are vanishingly few. Only during story patches, but then everyone is around anyway. So it would be adding a lot of inconvenience for not a lot of benefit.
I mostly remember it for its visual spectacle and its technical prowess. It was the first time I'd seen a movie with computer animated characters that didn't feel like I was watching a movie with computer animated characters.
recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.
itβs come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so Iβm posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI
Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of the people involved in making this survey (and probably Discord in general) weren't very enthusiastic about this idea either.
Discord wants to know how you feel about AI.
Go tell them: discord.sjc1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...
Really? The people advocating for autocratic and fascist government, singling out a specific minority group to blame for all society's ills, having a special police force "arrest" people belonging to that group and shipping them off to prison camps without trial, are nothing like Nazis?
Yes, if you take an existing situation and exchange the group of murderous government fascists for a historically oppressed/enslaved/massacred minority group, it becomes a very different situation, correct.
I am loving all these VA reveals! It does make me wish the whole thing was voice acted instead of just the fights. They're such fantastic VAs it seems a waste not to use them more!
That's how censorship works. Leave the boundaries vague and the punishments harsh, so people will overcorrect out of fear and self-censor on a level you could otherwise never get away with enforcing.
I knew it! I was sure I heard Urianger in there!
I think there can be value in having an assist function that can autoplay parts of the game if the player really can't do it. Didn't one of the recent Super Mario games have that?
The real problem here is that it's unclear if this is based on generative AI, or just traditional NPC AI programming.
Ocarina of Time, hands down. Though Anno 1602 and Settlers 3 were strong contenders too.
Now, probably Anno 1602. Ocarina of Time's control scheme didn't age well for me, otherwise it would still be at the top.
Such a difficult choice! For THEN, it has to be a three-way tie between The Longest Journey, Space Channel 5, and FF8. Though AoE 2 and Shenmue are close.
For NOW, probably just The Longest Journey. I replayed it some time last year and damn if it doesn't hold up... once you can get it to run.
Chiitan is a good girl so she will help you.
