A judge recently corrected the statute he was being held under so that he can finally receive a bond hearing which has been requested with many letters of support for Ludovic’s moral character. We hope that in the next week or two he will finally be released on bond. This has been a long week with the government going back and forth, raising our hopes and then stalling and reversing course. It all seems like ICE just wants to cause as much suffering as they can, just to get Ludovic to give up. They need him to give up, but thanks to all of the support he has received he is able to continue fighting for justice. In related news Maryland congressional representatives recently made a public visit to the Baltimore ICE facility where Ludovic experienced the worst conditions during his captivity. Recently Maryland judges have also ordered a number of corrections to appalling conditions there. Thank you to everyone who has been contacting your representatives regarding Ludovic’s case, the Baltimore detention facility, and more broadly ICE’s disgraceful conduct nationwide. As it stands, as long as capitalistic forces make individuals have to choose between life and quality, life will always take priority.

And that's capitalism, not consumer habits.

If people were allowed access to the things they needed, they would have the financial bandwidth, possibly, to really go for that artistic of textile quality that people deserve to afford.

I'm never a fan of takes where the core premise is "everyone should individually pay more" and that includes a take I saw about private equity vs consumer behavior.
