Don't get me wrong, it still provides fun with the co-op idea (honestly does a lot of heavy lifting) and at its peak it even plays with the co-op idea to mess with the players. But the timing of the game followed by it leading to visceral's closure I think leaves a sour taste for a lot of people
To me, dead space 3 isn't completely irredeemable but it does have a lot of design issues that really hurt the game design, enemies that act more like humans in a cover shooter, the weird weapon craft system that was literally designed to create micro transactions, among other issues
