i feel you with intent on results, i think it led me to many bad habits when i was a student

as much as i love gallery shows and the lot, you're absolutely right.

in a way i feel this is how many art programs fail students. you have pretentious professors who give bad advice based on their personal tastes which leave young artists not knowing what to actually do with their careers

that's pretty much what i was told!! God forbid students try their own way.

i worked in exclusively traditional for so long until i had a potential employer look at my traditional-only portfolio of charcoal and acrylics and essentially say "what the fuck is this" lol

that's pretty much where i'm at anymore. whenever i have tried to educate, they tend to not believe what i say due to my own "bias".

but thankfully they're cis so it's impossible for them to have one!

I know calling reps is very nerve racking. You're not sure what's the right thing to say, and tbh having a script thrown at me makes things just as nerve racking.

i've told cishet relatives about his ant-trans rhetorict and they were QUICK to explain that he's just asking fair questions about trans people in sports.

as long as he says "trans folk are not literally the devil" i guess that's enough for people to not actually question your intentions lol

back when i started taking art classes in college (2014), professors often discouraged digital art.

if you haven't played the most recent oddworld game, the social commentary is arguably more poignant now than ever.

the language used like "whistle blower" makes the sick concept they present feel especially grounded in oddworld's twisted reality.

in regards to my name "gwen", it's not nearly as interesting.

i wanted to keep my initials the same, so i looked up every girl's name that started with 'g'. stuff like gloria, gianna, gabriella, etc just didn't feel right.

but 'gwen' was the one that put a smile on my face 🧡

"rometwin" comes from my last name 'romer' and the fact that i have a twin brother. it's been my username since i was 12.

also! shortly after my dad was born in saigon during the war, his sister dated an american who adopted him and relocated them both to the US.

that's my grandpa romer :)
