I suspect one reason the Labour right isn't very keen on PR is that it doesn't want to sell itself on its (scant) merits, preferring to bully the left into voting for it merely to keep out the right.

Can anyone explain to me what the Blue Labour justification for this is? Who out there will vote Labour because Mahmood prevented a Sudanese Chevening Scholar? And to be honest, why wonβt the PM simply overrule her?
Would I die in a ditch to defend the hereditaries? No. But abolishing them smacks of performing Lords reform as an easier alternative to actually doing it
The most dubious Lords appointments tend be those appointed in recent years, I think by Tory leaders - Ross Kempsell, Claire Fox, Charlotte Owen, Nigel Biggar, Matthew Elliott, Sharron Davies, Daniel Hannan etc etc
Hereditaries post-1999 basically *are* life peers, as they're chosen by their fellow party group HoL hereditaries on the basis of their own credentials, and they remain there for life or until retirement and don't pass their HoL seat to their descendants
Nope
Britainβs entire rightwing political classes being dragged around by whatever nonsense happens to have appeared on Trumpβs Truth Social account in the past fifteen minutes is something to behold
what were you expecting? intellect?
just so we're clear, your tiny dick doesn't have an EGOT

At the most basic level of 'have some self-respect', Conservative MPs should not put forward someone who visibly is not intellectually equipped to be prime minister as their candidate to be prime minister.
btw there was another young guy who didn't know who sung I Don't Like Mondays lol... this time on The Chase
It's especially delightful that he couldn't be in court to receive news of yet another legal defeat because he was in custody in connection with an assault for which he has just been charged.
Every second of free time you have ever had in your life was subsidized by the existence of the combine harvester.
tbh criminal arrest is a more dignified route than appearing in House of the Dragon
dare any funeral directors to rename themselves Game of Bones
of course they left bodies unrefrigerated, you don't get refrigeration on Westeros
they look like extras on Game of Thrones
A lot of the improvement in Badenoch's ratings is down to Reform voters liking her more but they're not returning to the Tories.
I thought Eluned and Keir are barely on speaking terms

I think one thing is that some of the actual improvement in Badenoch's personal ratings may simply be downwind of the right-wing press deciding they were going to relentlessly talk her up. Vibe-ocracy in that sense.
Possible also that some are backing away from Farage.
Some people still haven't grasped that being moronically obstinate isn't the same as being "strong"
Excellent news. I am surprised there aren't more cases like this. Obviously the platform should have taken the posts down, but great to see action against the vile poster. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
I can see it, so that one must be... personal
shoulda been a tracksuit manager, much less faff
AHAHAHAHA
Genuinely donβt see much tarmac for the conversation that regulating the media is heavy handed political interference when the great replacement theory is being espoused on prime time
was probably designed just before he started playing for Liverpool (he joined in the summer of 93) so was based entirely on his Forest career
