[I'm cis] Before this Government came to power, it was uncontroversial to say that the Equality Act 2010 prevented discrimination against trans people. Since the Supreme Court judgment, Labour has actively promoted an interpretation which says the Act REQUIRES discrimination against trans people.
Pre the GE the trans community was generally looking forward to a non-tory government, I warned then that the difference between the Labour we got and the Tories we had is that the Tories were too incompetent to fully realise their hatred, Labour go that extra mile to make sure we really feel it.

While I understand this and don't disagree, it does lead to the issue where one day a trans woman will be pro level good at something and then they will say it's cos she's trans not just a good athlete. Which is really terrifying as it means we are supposed to compete but oh god don't win!
