TLDR: Release of the game is delayed. My inexperience as a solo-game developer caused me to underestimate the time it takes to actually finish a game. As things stand I have a working copy, but I'm not satisfied with the game's polish and there are still some features missing. I'm currently also writing a bachelor's thesis, which is leaving me less time than anticipated to work on the game. As RPG Chess will be my first project published, I want to make it right. So instead of rushing to keep the launch date I set for May 9th, I've decided to go back to an undecided date of "2025", and instead update you with a new date only after I'm finished with the game's production. I'm very sorry and frankly embarrassed, but I hope you'll still look forward to when it eventually comes out, as I promise you: It WILL be tons of fun!

Thanks! For the single-player mode, it works sort of as a deckbuilder, where early battles consists of just a few pieces. In online matches however, every board has all the pieces from the start!
RPG Chessโ: Each piece has its own unique skill alongside attack that can be used at any time. The pawn has the skill "Gambit", which has it sacrificing itself to give some experience to the king๐ #gamedev

While it sucks not being part of the event, I'm very excited with the way the project is taking shape! I haven't shared this since it's mostly due to another group of people, but I currently have 2000+ wishlists on Steam after a few TikToks/YouTube Shorts went viral, which is just insane. (5/6)
