So long, @support.bsky.team. I like your platform but not enough to hand over my credit card, ID documents, linked to my photo - to some random company. I really expected better from you guys…

CSIRO to cut up to 350 research jobs in major overhaul After 440 positions were slashed last year, the CSIRO has announced more staff cuts across the country in a bid to remain financially viable.

β€œCSIRO has announced it will slash up to 350 jobs as the national science agency grapples with long-term financial challenges … with current funding failing to keep pace with the rising costs of running a modern science agency.”

Not β€œchallenges”. They’re choices. 😑

Ha ha! I share *exactly* this sentiment: "Don't tell anyone ... ggplot is starting to grow on me (for somethings)"

dplyr but make it bussin fr fr no cap `genzplyr` is an alternative syntax for `dplyr` that replaces boring old function names with GenZ slang. Your data wrangling is about to hit different.

Thanks to this bussin new #rstats πŸ“¦ by @hadley.nz,
you can now yeet rows and vibe_check columns in your data frames, no cap

I agree Claude is in another league for R code. What do you mean by API tasks?

Hey #rstats #rspatial people working with rivers, how do you approach labelling rivers nicely on maps where the underlying data are broken up into many small stream segments, each with the same string in the name column of the sf object?

It takes a while on my cheap digital ocean droplet but I don’t remember it taking too long on my fairly modest local Mac mini

It was actually for a poster at a scientific conference. Initially I had the idea to just make the title look like the cover of a comic. After that it kind of got out of hand… I’m not much of an artist with a pen so I used AI to generate the images. Glad you liked it!
