The Media Resilience Network offers confidential trauma resources to journalists. Their work is needed now more than ever.

I don't have a lot of data on this, but ever since the war started, searches for teaching kids about evil and understanding evil and teaching kids about consent have overrun even the most popular YouTubers on my site. Not even close in comparison and for days on end.

MAGA's rhetoric of western civilizational emergency is so weird. They look at ICE arresting grandmothers and they see the ancient Greeks defeating the Persians or the Franks stopping the Islamic invaders in 732.
Everyone else sees ICE arresting grandmothers.

Next it will switch to Parents Pause for Privacy, where I will research the software and data storage connected to our students. Looking for both experts and questions #caregivercorner
Right now there are families all over Florida who believe in truthful education. There are many who want more transparency for our kids privacy, for one. This is a place where I collected info for our school about Lifetouch School Picture Day and Leon Black (con)

And it got me thinking about all of the incredible history I learned through primary sources, memoir, art-- right when formerly HRH Andrew was feeling that foreign feeling that there are consequences to his actions. www.patreon.com/posts/142664... /5
rebranding McCarthy only brings us in line with the very oppressive governments that these standards say they want to warn us against,β www.tampabay.com/news/educati... /4
The @tampabaytimes.bsky.social was on top of this story back in November. @flfreedomread.bsky.social connected us: βIn todayβs media landscape, with intentional threats against free speech, independent media, and anything that removes the veneer of American exceptionalism, /3
"It is difficult to believe that Zohran Mamdani (for example) would have received such enthusiastic support if New York students had been taught about the lamentable catalog of atrocities committed in the name of communism." Via @truthout.org /2
I have a lot more to say on the McCarthy part, but this is a hell of a take when we're committing war crimes on children to cover up the crimes that our democratically-elected leaders and their businessman buds committed to and with children: truthout.org/articles/thi...

Thereβs also often a devilβs bargain buried in all this, that you flatter and, yeah, respect these white people who think this country is theirs by throwing other people under the busβby disrespecting immigrants and queer people and feminists and their rights and views. And you reinforce that constituencyβs sense that they matter more than other people when you pander like this, and pretty much all the problems weβve faced over the past four years, to say nothing of the last five hundred, come from this sense of white people being more important than nonwhites, Christians than non-Christians, native-born than immigrant, male than female, straight than queer, cis-gender than trans. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito just complained that βyou canβt say that marriage is a union between one man and one woman. Now itβs considered bigotry.β This is a standard complaint of the right: the real victim is the racist who has been called a racist, not the victim of his racism, the real oppression is to be impeded in your freedom to oppress. And of course Alito is disingenuous; you can say that stuff against marriage equality (and he did). Then other people can call you a bigot, because they get to have opinions too, but in his scheme such dissent is intolerable, which is fun coming from a member of the party whose devotees wore βfuck your feelingsβ shirts at its rallies and popularized the term βsnowflake.β
When you call misogyny misogyny, you're allying with the victims of it and maybe rendering the misogynists uncomfortable, and you're also telling the truth. Whose comfort matters? Matters more than truth? The Times and a lot of the mainstream has been telling us conservative white men come first.
I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.
State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

You honestly haven't experienced anything until you've witnessed The Voyage of Odysseus (the King of Ithaca who was trying to get him to to his family after the war) in front of kids surrounded by very few others their age who understand. /2
I don't know if anyone else sees a lot of people asking "Who's dumb enough to put a SCHOOL on a MILITARY BASE," but the only two times I was ever on a military base was when I produced traveling shows for the kids who live there, like this one:
With stillness I remembered important personal things to take care of.
I hope we are protecting the stillness we can still get.
It's hard to remember to pause.
With stillness I could call my mother.
I felt positive for the day.
I love my kids. I don't still love wfh all the time but I do love that when my child is sick, a great doctor is close and my work time just has to stretch to accommodate the cuddles and care.
But the minute the door closed today, I. WAS. ALONE. I adore their rabble but the stillness is necessary.
