Oh, that was literally just me reading a regular amount. I think they assumed that their kids didn't read much so I wouldn't either...
We did have read-a-thons and book fairs though! I saved up so much money to get the animorphs, babysitters club, and anything that looked fantasy or had a dragon on it.
A neighbor once made the mistake of pledging like... a quarter per page or something, and uh... it was ~1k$.
We got to have pizza parties once a semester if everyone met their reading goals. I used to read a book a day, and still hold the AR reading record for 1 semester at my school. The next closest person was over 500 AR points away.
We didn't have the pizza hut thing though.
If you ever take trades or partial trades, might be in the danger zone, lol.
For now, all my $$ goes toward flight to Japan. No worries, I'll just quietly bookmark and stare.

If you ever want to read a paper for free and can't find it otherwise, email the lead author and politely ask for a copy. You will not be bothering the person. You will in fact make their whole entire day. I have had scientists get so excited I asked they sent me everything they ever published.
I used to study to be an arboriculturist, my oldest OC (34yrs) is part tree, I love being in nature, and a Snag is a dead tree.
