Grammarly Is Facing a Class Action Lawsuit Over Its AI ‘Expert Review’ Feature The feature, which Grammarly shut down Wednesday, presented editing suggestions as if they came from established authors and academics—without their consent.

I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.

State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

Your theory isn’t necessarily wrong but I think there’s the issue of squad planning post Kane & Son too. Spurs don’t have any spine in their team. No proven 20+ premier league goal scorer, no creativity in midfield and no stable center backs. Premier League is cut throat.

Not gonna link to the rage-bait Kevin Roose slopaganda "which is better, human or AI writing". But after picking all human... how does this man continue to embarrass himself this much?

The McCarthy sentence is neither clunky, nor a mistake... NOR does it have anything to do with punctuation???

It is not AI written work. How difficult is it to understand?

There’s a reason why institutional prestige matters so much.

If you work for a nationally recognized institution you can just come up with blatant batshit and cause a conversation around it.

LLM can’t think. Humans can. End of story.

The academic job market is the biggest gambling industry out there but no one wants to talk about it.

I have seen a lot of cursed stuff in my time in academia but this is among the *most* cursed.
Grammarly is generating miniature LLMs based on academic work so that users can have their writing ‘reviewed’ by experts like David Abulafia, who died less than two months ago.

RFK Jr. suggests Americans can more easily afford groceries if they start eating liver instead of beef:

"Most of the cheap cuts of meat are very inexpensive. ... You can buy liver or the cheap cuts."

I know this is not important but I have Fox, CNN, MSNBC on my TV and none of them are actually reporting news from the ground or have any useful information to share about the war whereas the most accurate on ground news is being shared by OSINT accounts on social media.

You have to have lived under a dictatorship or a censorship to sense the slow and gradual depreciation of quality of diversity of views in a society.

People in Pakistan mostly don’t care about forced disappearances because they never got to know about it because it wasn’t on TV or social media.

Burger King will use AI to check if employees say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ Have it your way?

Black Mirror can't top this: "Burger King is launching an AI chatbot ["Patty"] that will live in the headsets used by employees. [It] will not only assist employees with meal preparation but also evaluate their interactions with customers for 'friendliness.'” www.theverge.com/ai-artificia...

the benefit from writing the paper is not having a 30-page paper as a result

the benefit is the thinking that goes along with writing the paper — that is part of writing the paper.

If all that's done is the pre-analysis plan and the analysis then that limits the new thinking

Special Sports Media Guy post, because the Polymarket-Substack partnership is bad, bad, so very, very bad.

Why this partnership could be a death knell to ethical, independent sports journalism online.
