Sign on someone's lawn that says, I love you. You're thinking, you don't even know me. But if people can hate for no reason, I can love.

Six years ago today, Louisville police murdered Breonna Taylor while serving a no-knock warrant based on false information.

They shot her six times while she slept in her home. Breonna was only 26. She was an EMT, an aspiring nurse, and beloved by all who knew her.

St Peter's Churchyard in Cambridge, painted by me on the spot in the late '80s. On the left is part of St Giles' Church across the road. I love the delicate greeny-grey of bare deciduous trees after the winter. Reflections in the glass of the frame but I'm grateful to Angela for taking this photo because I don't think I took one before parting with it. R.I.P Sabrina

This is the other of my 1980s watercolours owned by the lady from the previous post (some reflections in the glass). I had sat in St Peter's churchyard to paint this, adjacent to Kettle's Yard in Cambridge in early spring.

One of my older flower watercolours, sold a long time ago. Poppies, nettles and Macleaya cordata leaves in a glass jug.

Oriental poppies, nettles and Macleaya cordata leaves, watercolour. I wonder if that Macleaya (plume poppy) will come up this year? It often disappears for a while and then pops up again. It's a lovely plant, not particularly invasive.

From Wikipedia: Goldie Boathouse is the fitness and administrative base of Cambridge University Boat Club, located on the River Cam in Cambridge, England. It was originally the University boathouse and was named after CUBC's President J. H. D. Goldie, who also gave his name to the University's second crew.

This is one of the Cambridge boathouse series, dated 1996 (the Goldie). All of these early ones were painted sitting on the river bank (i.e. not from photographs). Later I took photos to help with finishing them. #Cambridge #rowing #theCam
