I watched the Devo documentary during my kidney stone recuperation last November. Gerald and Bob (One) were at the Kent State massacre (as was Chrissie Hynde) and formed Devo with Mark Mothersbaugh shortly after.

I vaguely remember seeing them around. They were killed off by Laser Disc, so that's getting on for, what, 40 years ago?
I clearly remember seeing VCD at the Heathrow hi-fi show in '93 and thinking "well, that's utter shite".
@avavsystems.bsky.social this came up on my local FB group. Are you interested?
We need some ladies on the CSC crew.
I've just had an idea for cheap Xmas tree decorations this December. I have a desk full of prototype mp3 players...
Went to collect daughter from bus station. Collected some chazza records while I was waiting.
With lateral thinking like that, have you considered a career in engineering?
Nor here. I put washing on the line at 8am. It's wetter now than it was then.
If we ever do finally buy a campervan*, when we stay at the harbour site, it'll become our local. (*) saw one at the NEC show we both like, hiring a similar one for a few days at Easter.
That's the place next to car park where they over winter the beach huts, isn't it? I walked past it last year but didn't go in. I can't eat anything on the menu, but I'm sure they can make me a cuppa. Many happy returns to Mr B.
The boy got me a couple of records for my birthday, and I had neither of them. I put it down to a combination of beginner's luck and excellent training.
Released the same day as the Fannie's Bandwagonesque, and only a couple of months after both Screamadelica & Nevermind. Record shopping had a higher hit rate back in 1991.
I used to roadie in the Granby Tavern, the grotty music pub at the end of my road, in return for beer. I still can't get my head around Slowdive having a comeback and a world tour. Lush, Ride, Chapterhouse, Moose, Thousand Yard Stare, I've had them all on the back of my stage...
I vaguely knew them as I lived round the corner from Slowdive when Reading was the centre of the shoegaze scene. They were such nice, quiet, people. I saw the Dec '91 Loveless tour at the Cambridge Corn Exchange, 25 minute white noise You Made Me Realise et al. My ears are still recovering.
Is that the one with a track recorded live round a Soundfield mic?
Compensates for the last two visits, both of which returned empty-handed.
Daughter started a new job yesterday. Communting is via the Guided Busway, which is next to Waitrose, which is next to half a dozen charity shops. This could become an expensive habit. Masterblaster, Wordy Rappinghood, Upside Down, La Vie En Rose, Why - someone liked their disco...
Eh? You'll have to speak up. My ears are ringing...
Fonda 500 last night, my first time since summer 2019. Bod must have a wrinkly painting in the attic, as she seems to get younger with every gig. My ears are still ringing this morning.
Just back from seeing the not entirely dissimilar Fonda 500. My ears are going to be ringing tomorrow. Bod seems to get younger every time I see her. Sigh...
When you get to Motown, what constitutes a cover version gets tricky - what was recorded first, or what was released first. They all covered each other. I have about 20 versions of I Heard It Through The Grapevine on Motown...
A quid each. Ernie from Sally Army, ver League from the Volunteer Centre opposite the library - I almost walked past as they normally never have anything.
Mr W. Eric now lives in Cromer. I'm going up there in a couple of weeks to see The Mum. I'll have a look in Another Planet for more of his work while I'm up there. His latest LPs are always in the racks (and he's often in the shop).
Warra lorra goals.
Sheila, take a bough.
Is the photographer Bigears?
Lip up!
Today's Chazza picks
In late summer I started a massive database mangling project at work. I started listening to the @charityclassics.bsky.social archive, from show 1, in order. After a shaky start it very quickly hit the groove. Today I made it to show 101. Gremlins mean #89 won't play and #100 is absent. Wonderful.
Seconded. You can even upgrade the stylus to the Bronze or Black, or downgrade to the Red. But I've used a Red before, and wouldn't bother again. Blue is the way.
