im entirely blaming my lack of will to read fantasy lately on the fact that it's incredibly white. like yes i could ignore those books and choose to only read bipoc authors in the genre, but that's not really the solution, it's simply a bandaid.

ngl this genre that i love deeply is so irreparably white and there are so many authors (i could name but won't) who write about oppression and rebellion but actively suck irl when it comes to real humanitarian crises and activism. it doesn't stop at the names.

every fantasy name list i've seen on pinterest is just "here's a bunch of white people names from Ye Olden Tymes"
