Me too. All I know is Scooby gets possessed at one point by Spectre and demands “Rengence!”
Yes, I’m religious. I believe in the Holy Trinity.
Yeah, it was pretty bleak, and glad Starlin was not the one to take over Superman.
Being honest, not in love with Arthur Adams’ art in this issue, but I do like when you can credibly put Superman in a horror story.
Impossible blog project: a compilation of all Barney Fife cameos in comics, and there’s at least one as a recent as this year.
Best dinosaur
For one of Jurgens’ earliest outings, I don’t quite see his style yet, and that may be because of inking.
Ron Frenz is awesome
Decided to just group all three annuals together rather than when they came out a month at a time. I’m pretty sure from here on it’s going to be a blind read for a bit barring a random issue or two.
Simple and to the point.
Yup and all can get from cheap bins!
One of three perfect single Marvel Comics issues along with:
Now just down to issue 2 and then I’ll have all 125 issues
If I had a nickel for every Superman/Mr. Miracle team-up where Scott was looking down in a skylight, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it’s happened twice.
Nothing like listening back weeks later to realize the phrase I should have used to describe Quarrel and Crackerjack’s relationship is “Team-Up with Benefits.”
So far it’s been a good read overall, granted I’m still in parts I’ve read before so I know what to expect.
Poor Tellus is missing.
New episode up! @jsa4e.bsky.social and I talk one of the best Astro City stories, The Tarnished Angel!

It has Dr. Light!?
The only Justice League Identity Crisis I need.
A two-parter editorial ABSOLUTELY should have told Byrne “No!” on.
This was such a great, disgusting villainous tale for Lex.
The Legion plucked Clark out in high school and was only Superboy in the future and mind wipe each time. Plucked out during his early Superman time and just yadda yadda them as kids they were in early 20s whole time and are youthful for longer in 30th century.
Regardless of everything else, the pocket universe is an incredibly rickety explanation that has never worked for me, and there were easier explanations.
I think this is the first actual reference to Pete Ross since the reboot?
This is still a great team shot of the Legion.
This series needs more credit.
… w/o dumping everything else. So far in this read there’s not be enough changes that I don’t think the hard cut was needed. Byrne coming on inherently brings on a newer energy to the books that was needed. A softer reboot would have been better for DC continuity as a whole.
