Thank you to everyone who came out to Wilmore this morning to hear from the candidates. It was a fantastic event, and I appreciated the chance to share the work I’m putting in and the results we’ve been delivering in Frankfort.
With your support, we can keep that work going. KYdeservesMoore.com

Kentucky runs some of the best elections in the nation. That's why I appreciate the State Board of Elections standing up to the Trump administration’s attempt to access Kentuckians’ private voter data.
I trust our election officials here at home far more than partisan actors in Washington.

This afternoon, 7 bills were voted on in the House just 2 hours after going through committee.
Most had substitutes, leaving no chance under the rules to file or debate amendments. Rushing bills like this shortchanges the legislative process. “Your party did it too” isn’t an excuse. Be better.

On #InternationalWomensDay, we can celebrate AND protect the progress women have made.
The federal SAVE Act and KY’s HB 534 could make it harder for millions of women to vote, especially those who changed their name after marriage or divorce. That’s why I voted NO on HB 534.

One of the best parts of this job is meeting the next generation of leaders.
Thank you to the incredible students from Murray State and UK who stopped by the Capitol. You’re already leading on your campuses, and it’s great knowing the future of the Commonwealth is going to be in good hands.

Independent voter registrations are surging in Fayette County and across Kentucky
New voter registration data from Kentucky's Secretary of State shows a clear trend: most new voters are stepping away from the two major parties.
Independent voter registrations are surging and my bill, HB 799, gives them a voice in primaries without parties losing control of their nominating process.
Voting is a fundamental right, and our democracy is stronger when more people show up and have a say.

I took to the House floor yesterday to push back on HB 534.
My amendment was simple: don’t let the federal government kick Kentuckians off our voter rolls. Kentucky already runs secure, accessible elections.
When it failed, I voted NO on the bill.

Beautiful service at St. Paul Catholic Church tonight denouncing political violence.
Along with Andy Beshear, there were hundreds of wonderful people from all faiths and backgrounds. Really grateful to live in a community where folks show up for each other like this. 🙌

KY woman who says she nearly died from pregnancy complications urges abortion ban repeal • Kentucky Lantern
More than 600 medical providers signed a letter asking the legislature to roll back abortion restrictions.
Yesterday I filed the Compassionate Care Act. HB 831 makes sure women facing a medical emergency or a nonviable pregnancy get the care they need, when they need it. It’s time to protect our families with laws that actually value their lives.

As I discussed on KET’s Kentucky Tonight, part of our childcare solution is the responsible expansion of Pre-K. By building a high-quality system that works for families, we ensure every Kentucky child can thrive earlier and every parent has the reliable options they need to stay in the workforce.

This week’s newsletter gives you a peek behind the curtain — how I’ve been able to strengthen bills behind the scenes and the ridiculous rules used to rush legislation and block debate. It goes out Monday morning, but you can read it now:

Healthcare should help you get better, not push you deeper into a hole. HB 2 opens the door to higher costs for working Kentuckians, so I offered an amendment that:
1) Keeps copays at the federal minimum.
2) Keeps medical debt off your credit report.
Unfortunately, the majority rejected it.

Yesterday, the House passed HB 500 using a broken, antidemocratic process.
The new version dropped less than a day before the vote, shutting down any chance to debate amendments. That rush blocked votes on major priorities like rural hospitals, retiree income, and teacher pay.

Proud to stand with fellow Lexington legislators and Chief Weathers as we advanced HB 299 out of committee. This bill keeps officers safe from dangerous conversion devices, aligns Kentucky law with federal rules, and protects the Second Amendment rights of responsible gun owners.

Wait… hold on. You’re telling me they put a legislator pay raise in HB 500, but nothing for teachers? And they’re still cutting education, transportation, healthcare, and SNAP?

Trump's trade war has hammered Kentucky's bourbon exports, hit agriculture like soybeans, and raised costs for everyone across the Commonwealth.
In the words of Regina George, stop trying to make tariffs happen!

Today I filed House Floor Amendment 4 to HB 500 to fix one of the deep flaws in the Republican's proposed budget.
My amendment restores over $100M in SNAP funding that working parents, children, seniors, and veterans rely on. We can’t let DC politics leave Kentuckians hungry.

Good! These tariffs were a Trump Tax that made everything more expensive for Kentuckians while causing headaches for our businesses.

I've heard from hundreds of y'all on HB 500, and you're right to be sounding the alarm. The current draft budget shifts costs onto Kentucky families while shortchanging our schools, health care, and public servants.

This Presidents Day, I’m not thinking about mattress sales. I'm remembering Washington and Lincoln, two leaders born in February who put the Union above themselves. Their honesty and moral courage are just as needed today as they were in their own time.

Today the House passed HCR 44 to help our disabled veterans get the trained, trusted support they deserve when filing VA claims.
Now I’m asking you to join us: reach out to Kentucky’s members of Congress and tell them to act. Democracy works best when more of us speak up.
