This afternoon, 7 bills were voted on in the House just 2 hours after going through committee.
Most had substitutes, leaving no chance under the rules to file or debate amendments. Rushing bills like this shortchanges the legislative process. “Your party did it too” isn’t an excuse. Be better.

The federal SAVE Act and KY’s HB 534 could make it harder for millions of women to vote, especially those who changed their name after marriage or divorce. That’s why I voted NO on HB 534.

I took to the House floor yesterday to push back on HB 534.
My amendment was simple: don’t let the federal government kick Kentuckians off our voter rolls. Kentucky already runs secure, accessible elections.
When it failed, I voted NO on the bill.

Healthcare should help you get better, not push you deeper into a hole. HB 2 opens the door to higher costs for working Kentuckians, so I offered an amendment that:
1) Keeps copays at the federal minimum.
2) Keeps medical debt off your credit report.
Unfortunately, the majority rejected it.
Yesterday, the House passed HB 500 using a broken, antidemocratic process.
The new version dropped less than a day before the vote, shutting down any chance to debate amendments. That rush blocked votes on major priorities like rural hospitals, retiree income, and teacher pay.
I’m fighting to stop HB 2 from making dangerous changes to Kentucky's Medicaid system.
Yesterday I filed an amendment that:
1) Limits copays to federal minimums
2) Protects care access
3) Ends predatory medical debt collection

Today I filed House Floor Amendment 4 to HB 500 to fix one of the deep flaws in the Republican's proposed budget.
My amendment restores over $100M in SNAP funding that working parents, children, seniors, and veterans rely on. We can’t let DC politics leave Kentuckians hungry.
Good! These tariffs were a Trump Tax that made everything more expensive for Kentuckians while causing headaches for our businesses.
I've heard from hundreds of y'all on HB 500, and you're right to be sounding the alarm. The current draft budget shifts costs onto Kentucky families while shortchanging our schools, health care, and public servants.
