Yes. And to tighten up that ending too because right now there may be too many extraneous words.

I rewrote the first half of this book many, many times, and touched the second half comparatively little. But if I donβt get it right, how can I move forward?
Why can't I say you? It's the truth!
Anyway, a short list because limits:

I often see posts saying name an author who you've read 5 books by.
I'm interested in short stories. So how about, name an author you've read 3 short stories by?
Also, the stories have to be published in the last 10 years.
Also, don't say me. π
Bought two new pairs of running shorts. Ready for the road 2026.
First attempt, a Portugal (mandarin,) in neon water colour and ink, then in oil pastels with colour theory applied.
A white lotus in oil pastels from my brotherβs fish tank pond.
The Cunapo Growing Stone on Mt Allen in the Biche Forest in oil pastels.
The Cunapo Growing Stone on Mt Allen in the Biche Forest in gouache.

Happy Birthday!!!
Anyway, one little bit of joy in my life right now is that I was able to repaint the house and redecorate my bedroom and when Iβm able to get the Christmas stuff up, that will be the best part.
If theyβre not warmongering, theyβre doing mass layoffs, harassing migrants, lying to the public, facilitating insane price increases, implementing absurd restrictions on national cultural events to suit goodness knows who, and basically trying to tank our economy. Who is winning here?
Did 16.5km in 2 hrs and 53 mins this morning and while I definitely will need to take the rest of today off, Iβm proud of how well this half marathon training is coming along.
Got ingredients for a simple charcuterie board and Iβm on my third straight day of eating that, knowing full well that eating so much cheese is inviting a migraine, so π¬
Writing development: deleted 7k words off my novella to improve my mental health. Now to rework this into something I actually like.
Running progress: finished week 1 of my half marathon training with approximately 21km (accumulated total.) 7k + 5k + 9k
Had my third road race for the year today (one 6k and two 5k,) and Iβve improved my times considerably. From 1 hr to complete the 6k, to 53.07 for the first 5k to 47.20 to complete the second. Next race is a 10k and aiming for 1 hr 10 minutes.
Started running for 5ks in June, walking before that, and I think my shoes are done. Which, yay, new shoes time but also wow!
I seem to have caught a 5k bug. One race a month is not a bad idea, is it?
Hurting my heart today
Part of my face amongst the crowd before the race begins.
Took part in my second 5k for the year, at the Cipriani College of Labour, and it rained so much, and so hard to the end, that I was soaked to the bone. But I had fun so I need to do more of these.
Nineteen years ago this week, an unexpected conversation at Readercon led to the creation of Clarkesworld. The day before, I had no interest in working in publishing. As hard as it is sometimes, I can't imagine not doing it now.

This is so wrong. This man needed to be under the jail.
Went for the walk today that I was supposed to do before the 6k and I feel like Iβve forgotten how to walk? Or maybe I was just holding myself stiffly because Iβm still a little sore from the race? Either way, it was nice to be outside. The sermon by speakerphone was unexpected.
Me smiling with medal after todayβs 6k walk/run
Did a 6k today with SewaTT and though it took me an hour, it was a fun time. Next time Iβll do it in less (as long as I donβt hurt my leg again π)
Happy Juneteenth!
Have a little clip of me reading from my Nebula & Sturgeon Award winning short story, TANTIE MERLE AND THE FARMHAND 4200, which is about an old woman, a robot & a goat--
--but also about personhood, acceptance, community & labor rights.

Itβs the worst thing. Feels like Iβm doing something so wrong.
Throwing out shoes I bought and barely wore because a pandemic sent everyone indoors and the increasing heat dry-rotted them actually sucks. I canβt even give them away because theyβre crumbling.
Developmental edits on this are going to be a trip.
Itβs the way this book is fighting me. What do you mean these sentences feel like a summary and not proper narration. What is going on?
Not me thinking the rain has stopped only for thunder to go off like a shot overheard. Welcome, welcome rainy season.
Psst...
If you'd like to read a real book, written by a real author, during your summer, my bittersweet fantasy novella THE UNBEARABLE TASTE OF FRUIT AND WINE, about a woman who can taste lies & truth & the thief that turns her life upside down, is now 5.99.
