We welcome plans to scrap the ineffective and unjust two child limit. To truly achieve the Government’s goal of creating the healthiest generation of children ever, the two child limit must be scrapped entirely.

Today, we’re launching #ChildCancerSmart alongside campaign ambassador @dramirkhangp.bsky.social - an evidence-based public and professional awareness campaign to improve #EarlyDiagnosis of cancer in children and teenagers aged up to 18 🩵🎗️
Find out more at cclg.org.uk/childcancers...
Cancer is the biggest killer by disease in the UK of children and teenagers. Too many are waiting longer than necessary to be diagnosed ‼️ Research shows that while some are diagnosed quickly after showing symptoms, many may take months or years - we want to close this gap 👇
We want #HealthcareProfessionals to consider the question: 'Could it be cancer?'
If a child has 3 persistent symptoms, 3 GP visits, or 3 weeks of unexplained symptoms, it might be time to call your local on-call paediatrician 📞

September the 1st marks the start of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Early diagnosis is key.
Are you Child Cancer Smart?
#CCAM
Pleased to launch #ChildCancerSmart today, aiming to speed up diagnosis of cancer in children and young people through raising awareness with the public and equipping professionals with tools and resources to help them with diagnosis
It follows several years of research, including a population-based observational study and a lot of systematic reviews, to ensure we have, for the first time, a sound evidence base and a good understanding of the signs and symptoms of childhood cancer and the pathways to diagnosis.
Huge thanks to everyone involved, not least CCLG Early Diagnosis Fellow @headsmartfellow.bsky.social, all of the team involved in this, the children, young people and families who have contributed, and @dramirkhangp.bsky.social for helping to spread the word!
Absolutely delighted to see the Child Cancer Smart campaign launch today.
A campaign steeped in evidence aiming to raise awareness and accelerate diagnosis for all children and young people with cancer.
Huge thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make this happen.

NOW ONLINE @lancetrh-europe.bsky.social: times and routes to diagnosis for children and young people with cancer across the UK, in the Childhood Cancer Diagnosis study (CCD), reported by @headsmartfellow.bsky.social and colleagues #earlydiagnosis
www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...
It's great to be able to share the results of the landmark Childhood Cancer Diagnosis Study years of work! The aim was for us to quantify diagnostic intervals and referral routes for CYP (0-18) with cancer. (1/7)
Delighted to see the @nihr funded CCD study published today in @lancetrh-europe.bsky.social
Lots to celebrate: sex, ethnicity and IMD does not impact time to diagnosis for CYP w cancer.
But also lots to improve: young people and certain diagnostic groups need urgent attention.
