I know of some neurodivergent people who have said they are uncomfortable. That's the extent to which I can comment on that.
"Wild" has been my find-and-replace shortcut. When my brain wants the other word, I swap for "wild". But it does typically force me to be a little more creative, as well.
I have cut them out of my vocabulary (I've slipped a few times) over the past few years, but I know that it makes a non-zero number of people uncomfortable, and that's enough for me. I don't care if it's just 3 people who care, those words are simply not that important or useful to cling to them.
We have as much of a responsibility to ourselves to be precise in our communication as we do to others to not harm, either by direct attack or by reinforcing hurtful stereotypes.
I think it's also a good reason to think about the language we use. Even if 51% of neurodivergent people are cool with others using the word "crazy", you have to remember that a conversation is two totally different simultaneous experiences, one by the speaker, and the other by the listener.
