Bravado (2004 Remaster)
Bravado (2004 Remaster) YouTube video by Rush - Topic

I get what you’re saying; the conclusion of the Vanguard saga is a bloodbath. It was always meant to be; that ending was telegraphed from the start. Which is why, for me, the song whose lyrics best sum up the spirit of the saga is “Bravado” by RUSH: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wonn...

Civilian collateral damage always sucks — even when it happens to criminals.

In my delusional moments of optimism, I picture Star Trek: Vanguard as a live-action series, yes. If it were to go the animated route (say, for budgetary reasons), I’d hope for a visual aesthetic similar to that used in Netflix’s WW2 limited series THE LIBERATOR.

a man in a suit is flying through a galaxy ALT: a man in a suit is flying through a galaxy

Since the Vanguard TV series will likely not happen in my lifetime (if ever), the STORMING HEAVEN ending is the only one poor Doctor Fisher is going to get...

A dispatch from the annals of Project 2025 authoritarianism: Universities are now being required to provide demographic data on all students who applied to their schools for the past 5 years so the feds can sniff out illegal affirmative action. Until last year, tho, keeping such data was not allowed

there is an extremely long list of people who need to be held accountable in the next administration but sending the DOGE boys to big boy jail needs to be near the top of the list

Mamdani wants to take buildings from bad NYC landlords. This bill could make it happen. A Council bill with majority support would revive the once-controversial "third-party transfer" program.

The New York City Council is considering a bill to allow the city’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development to seize buildings from landlords who have racked up housing code violations and debt from unpaid taxes and fines and turn them over to better owners.

I would love to see it. A STAR TREK: VANGUARD pilot script is written, a pitch deck with a five-season plan stands ready, a casting wish list lives on my phone … but in all likelihood, none will ever see the light of day. C’est la vie.

As I've said before, if you're going do another 23rd century show, I would still love to see @davidmack.pro's Vanguard novels get adapted.

Again, Trek hasn't done a space station-based series since DS9 (and I love the idea of canonizing Vanguard's built-in premise of the TOS era's secret history).

Most liberals have no idea that the NY Times is a problem. Liberal/Dem leaders rarely criticize the Times (or any media) so people assume it’s okay. We have a serious media literacy problem on the left.

I violently agree with this dek:

“The idea that Democrats are weirdly and extremely obsessed with "identity politics" and pronouns is a right wing propaganda fiction not supported by polling data, and Democratic party leaders should not be perpetuating it.”

Media turds confuse access with transparency. They believe a fat dumb rapist lying to their faces during impromptu
press conferences and social media bleats is transparency b/c he gives them access.

Mamdani isn’t offering them the same level of access so they cry about lack of transparency.

Mamdani Chooses His Words Carefully After Alleged Terror Attack

One day the NYT's editors will read these stories again and be ashamed of themselves. Mamdani called the attack "heinous," "criminal," "reprehensible," "terrorism," and "the antithesis of who we are." The insinuation that he's conflicted about this is disgraceful. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/09/n...

An old screenshot talking about Google on top. It says "Google is a pure search engine — no weather, no news feed, no links to sponsors, no ads, no distractions, no portal litter. Nothing but a fast-loading search site. Reward them with a visit. You average normie Democrat in 2026 loves AOC, wants to abolish ICE, and thinks Israel shouldn’t get another penny from us.

It’s laughable how out of touch centrist consultants and politicians are.

I bought the whole run of BLACK BOOKS on DVD, and digitized it to a server so I can watch it at will. After seeing it vanish from various streaming services over the years, I vowed never to be without it again.

yes, no one is entitled to a job doing X Thing Forever, but I do think people 100% deserve to feel frightened about the prospect of never being able to find a decent-paying job that isn’t actively degrading again - lots of factors, LLMs included, are making people reasonably fear this

They are murdering civilians in 🇮🇷.

They are murdering civilians in concentration camps.

They are murdering civilians on the streets of 🇺🇸 cities.

These are not problems that can be fixed with new laws or more court orders.

I’d love to revive the ship design aesthetic of SPACE: 1999 in a more grounded reboot à la the Battlestar Galactica reboot. SPACE: 2199, e.g., and dig into politics the way they did on THE EXPANSE.
