🇳🇿 New Zealand has published its 5th OGP National Action Plan.
With four focused commitments, the plan reviews whistleblower protections, develops a corruption risk tool, examines revolving-door risks, and explores stronger transparency on conflicts of interest.
This information was then integrated into city planning, helping adaptation strategies reflect the real needs and conditions of local communities.
This approach helped make climate planning grounded in local realities and better aligned with actual service gaps.
The city developed community-generated evidence systems, including neighborhood assessments and participatory mapping, to collect detailed vulnerability data.
Cities often struggle to understand climate impacts at the neighborhood level. Localized data, community insights, and institutional mechanisms are often missing.
