Thanks for showing up and for your questions!

I've written a short piece on Aby Warburg and his rather idiosyncratic use of everyday photography to document the presence of ancient "Pathosformeln" (emotionally charged representations of the body) in his own time. It's out both in IT and EN in a wonderful exhibition catalogue:

This piece is great, in particular for its emphasis on the epistemic / logical potential of close reading and its political value. Grateful for it
The new issue of the European Journal of Pragmatism and American Philosophy is out, with a symposium on "Brandom and Political Theory" (ed. Y. Huetter-Almerigi and M. Santelli), one on Matthias Jung's new book on articulation, and more. Check it out: journals.openedition.org/ejpap/5254
@notion.com, I'd like you to know that one reason I stopped using you as my note-taking software is the ubiquitous "Ask AI" button. Kind regards
π₯ Today, academics in the Netherlands are striking to put pressure on the government to remove the devastating cuts to higher education that are still under discussion. Send solidarity! π₯
Thanks, Georg! I hope you're well :)

This is so hilarious :)
Take a look at the new website of the "Gendering Sociology" project, a network of Italian scholars (PI Chiara Ferrari, Milan) seeking to broaden the sociology canon by looking at early women sociologists (such as Jane Addams and many others).

We don't just need universities to train doctors and engineers... We also need humanists, to help us to understand the world we live in. I am striking because we need to educate the next generation of teachers, journalists, and opinion makers.

While we keep fighting in the NL against cut to higher education, something similar might be happening in Italy. Here's an interview to the rector of Pisa University #WoInActie

Let's see the good in it: we didn't meet because the crowd was too big ;)
Today we went to The Hague to protest against the right wing Dutch government's plan to cut funds to higher education. It was a big, enthusiastic crowd

Can you add me ? :) thanks
Certainly the images of yesterday's peaceful demo support your interpretation - especially given the complete absence of any other reliable elements from govt's side
It's almost as much fun here on @bsky.app as on Twitter 5 years ago. Hopefully, many institutions like Maastricht University and its Law school follow soon. Our institute is already over, but we could still use some followers. @um-foundations.bsky.social.

I was indeed looking at these pictures and wondering, where's the security threat so serious that a peaceful national demonstration had to be banned? Are the govt and the Utrecht municipality going to provide any evidence of the nature of the threat?
wonderful talk by Gabriel Abend @fasosmaastricht.bsky.social y'day organized by @tullioviola.bsky.social. GA started off w/ this π legal case, in which one "Judge Locke" (sadly, Jeffrey, not John) espoused a fully Lockean theory of the meaning of the word "sandwich!"
