Fun with physics - here's some jump tests! Fixed an Unreal Engine issue where vehicles bounce back up a lot when landing. c: I can't change Unreal's physics, so instead I multiply the bounce and add it back downward to cancel things out. Works quite well.

Working on car sounds a bit more since the audio is super lacking~ Have some chuuu for the turbo and the throttle is a lot more dynamic. Trying different engine sound samples, slowly dialing things in.

Updated the sky colors to be more inspired by Auto Modellista. Its subtle but feels warmer.

Thanks for following along! Similar vibes, but no part upgrades - that would be too much work for me to accomplish on my own. However, you can unlock new cars, paintjobs, pretuned variations of cars and you gain "reputation levels" which unlock new dialogue branches and progress the story! c:

Added some ambient noises to the map. Cicada sounds were a must, also no more silent waterfalls! Also, audio levels are adjustable in the menu (fx, music, announcer, menu, tire screeches)

Just appreciating @hacaosuka.bsky.social's work, and finally thought of a name for this car. Also, light blue is the best color even though red is classic.
Added some new j-rock songs by the very talented indrop! I think it fits my vision perfectly. Also still looking for a few more music tracks in this style. Feel free to reach out if you're a j-rock artist~
Still fussing with the menus and styling, icons etc. Working on making it look a little nicer, but also featuring new main menu music from a jrock-style artist called indrop! (Also added some more announcer voices too~)
The biggest update is on gamepad though. You no longer have to scroll through the buttons like a menu, different functions are simply mapped to each button for a faster experience.
Been working on the car select a bit - thought it'd be fun to show how it's changed.
Latest change puts the buttons back in the bottom for a cleaner look, the icons change depending on input type, and I had to change the background text to play nice with Unreal's anti-aliasing.

Added headshots / indicators above race opponents so you know who you're racing against during races! Does it look cool or is it too much? If the opponents get too far away, the indicators fade out so you won't see a ton of floating heads.
