Why is this (or rather *parental* leave) not already a thing? UKRI, Wellcome etc should put their heads together.
Three panel comic. Panel 1: a giant squid wearing a yellow Bart t-shirt and some terrible hypebeast shorts is looking in the mirror. It says, βneed groceriesβ¦ but all my clothes are in the laundry.β Panel 2: the squid, now also wearing hot pink crocs, exits its apartment and says, βeh. I wonβt see anyone.β Panel 3: two fisherman are pulling the squid to the surface of the water and pointing at it. An overlayed news caption reads: RARE SQUID SIGHTED - the fit was crazy

Some molecular machines, like ribosomes, can persist for long periods of time in cells.
Could molecular aging of ribosomes shape how proteins are made?
In our new preprint we track ribosomes as they age in cells and uncover unexpected effects on translation (1/10)

I am sure that this "review" will be done unbiasedly without any secret influence from Christian Concern's own Wes Streeting and the morons from SEGM that infest the NHS π¨
Extract from Impact Assessment. NHS England is separately reviewing the evidence for the use of MAF in adults with gender dysphoria, with the aim of a consultation on the evidence later in 2026.
Given that every 'evidence review' under Labour is conducted to 'build the evidence case against' can there be any real doubt about how this ends?

I'm genuinely not a War or Middle East Knower so I'm not at all confident in this. But: from the outside it really rather seems USA and Israel have started a conflict with no clear win condition for themselves and wherein it's turned out that the Iranian state has a fair capacity to cause them pain.

Private clinics must follow NHS and ban child gender drugs The Daily Telegraph10 Mar 2026By Michael Searles DEPUTY HEALTH EDITOR Wes Streeting ordered a review into gender hormone treatments last year WES STREETING has been told to ban private prescriptions of cross-sex hormones to children. The NHS said yesterday that it would stop prescribing the drugs to gender-questioning under-18s because the βavailable evidence does not support the continued useβ of them. A group bringing legal action to secure a ban welcomed the NHS decision but said it would be an βabdication of responsibilityβ if the Health Secretary allowed private clinics to continue providing them. The drugs, also known as gender-affirming hormones, are now mostly obtained by children and their families from private clinics and online, often unregulated, markets. Mr Streeting announced a review of the medication last May, but no details have been published and private clinics continue to supply them. Legal action to ban cross-sex hormones for under-18s was halted last year in order to give time for this review to be undertaken. However, those behind that challenge are set to issue proceedings once again this week, it is understood, almost one year later. Cross-sex hormones include testosterone and oestrogen, which are taken to help someone change their physical appearance to align with their desired gender, such as by growing hair or breasts. They are different to puberty blockers, which suppress the hormones that support a childβs body and brain to develop into an adult. Paul Conrathe, partner at Conrathe Gardner LLP, which is representing the claimants in this case, told The Telegraph the NHS decision was βoverdueβ. βWhile protecting teenagers treated in the NHS, it leaves others vulnerable to treatment from gender activists in the private sector. It would now be irrational and an abdication of the Secretary of Stateβs responsibility for him to allow private providers to continue to prescri

Yesterday the NHS banned all under 18 prescriptions of HRT for trans young people.
This ban was justified by 10 new studies that largely stated NO EVIDENCE for under 18s HRT exists.
The study underpinning this played one particular trick.

I found this really frustrating to read.
Mainstream media, including the BBC, prioritised the battle of ideas/2 sides argument as a popular means of coverage. This piece suggests it happened accidentally, or even at the behest of those pushed into these scenarios /1
