That little “Can you spot the AI writing?” quiz in the NYT is not a challenge. It is manufactured consent. They are trying to build a case. “See? 65% of people like AI better.” Or “40% can’t tell the difference.”
They want a number to help convince you that art has no value. Don’t give it to them.
Separating the art from the artist is a lot easier in Tarantino's case because he was using other people's art anyway.

Yes - this is a great movie and that's why people are seeing – but ALSO, in addition to that, this is what happens when a Canadian distributor ACTUALLY MAKES AN EFFORT TO MARKET A FILM AND CARES IF PEOPLE SEE IT.

The CBC running a puff piece on microdramas calling them job creators and burying the fact that they undercut almost 60 years of union work and livable wages is certainly something.

What is very fun is that Telefilm's "low budget cap" is 3.5M, but if you bring them a project at 3.2M, they will shake their heads in bafflement and say, "whoa whoa whoa... that's WAY too much money for a low-budget project."
Anyway, things are great.
Fun thing about the Canadian film industry is that even the high budget films cap out at like 6 million CAD. Which would make them micro budget movies in the US.
