Theyβll fly to Disneyland and enjoy the same.
They tell themselves that car-free places arenβt economically realistic, that the capitalist dynamism of Podunk, Nebraska demands separated uses, high LOS, and parking minima.
this is the most useful short-form video i've ever seen

Owned a car, and therefore a bunch of associated things. A coworker was amused to tell me once about how you can fill up big water jugs for camping, at gas stations. Thereβs whole βif you own and maintain and think car-firstβ world out there that I only half understand and definitely donβt intuit.
5/ And on the Strait of Hormuz, they had NO PLAN. I can't go into more detail about how Iran gums up the Strait, but suffice it say, right now, they don't know how to get it safely back open.
Which is unforgiveable, because this part of the disaster was 100% foreseeable.
I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.
I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.

Lots of little mid-rise single-stair buildings in my neighborhood, but this trio might be my favorite
Todayβs fun fact: the reason shipping lanes in the Baltic are so damn narrow is that there are anywhere from thirty to one hundred THOUSAND unexploded mines in the waterway from the World Wars, and the lanes are where the bottom has been swept
Yes⦠this is the way.
Take our "4/5" single-stair prototype building
and put it on two 33'x122 lots.

Biggest daily drop in Brent in 4 years. On a day the Iranians appear to be mining the Strait.
you draw up that ad for amtrak?
sure did boss, diarrhea money shot just like you asked
IRAN, IF YOU'RE LISTENING, WE EXPECT YOU TO PICK UP ALL MINES YOU HAVE PROBABLY NOT PLACED BUT MAYBE HAVE. ONCE YOU TELL US THE HORMOOSE STRAIT IS CLEAR OF MINES, WE WILL TRUST YOU, AND IF YOU'RE LYING WE WILL KNOW BECAUSE MINES ARE KNOWN TO BE VERY EASY TO SEE. SO EASY. WILL SEND JARED TO INSPECT.
I don't want to do a whole long rant on this, so I'll just say: the reason fossil fuels & other aligned incumbents don't want to transition to clean energy is that it will *damage their material interests*. And folks, they understand their own material interests. Really well!

Come say hi and meet some pro-housing neighbours at AHV's pub night!

Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, we hope to see you there!
Is this a sign of the times? Have we already passed "peak parking?" Vancouver's airport decides to leave massive garage unfinished because there's no demand for it. I bet they are anticipating autonomous cars in coming decades that don't need to park.
What does this mean for Vancouver? . . . (1/3)
tonight the White House touched the stove and went oof ouch owie. Tomorrow? The stove shall beckon again
Still catches my european mind off guard seeing americans post like "noooo gas prices have skyrocketed up from $0.03 to $0.04 cents per swimming pool"

I know itβs hyperbole (and good one, at that.) but the hospital where my child died really did send me a survey.

Guess I'm not getting $2 gas or that $2000 tariff rebate right?
βI had never the intention of working a job, and when I got into the pilot, you'd think that that would convince me even more not to work, because why do I need to work, right? I've got the money coming in. But when the pilot came through, I thought, βWell, if I work, then I can save all the money from the pilot and maybe some from the job as well,β and if I'd never been tempted by the pilot weirdly enough to go and do more work to get more money, then I never would have become more social and gone out of the house, and just developed as a person as I have over the past 2 years.. it made me happy. It changed how I acted quite a lotβ (YP62 - End of Pilot)
Love this experience by one of the basic income pilot participants in Wales. They got Β£1,290 a month after tax for two years (about $1,862/mo), and at first they planned to not get a job, but then after getting into the pilot, they changed their mind, because why not do more to get more money?
