“As a tracked target approaches the visual midline, the hemisphere about to receive the target shows a ramp-up of activity well before the crossing time, as if it is anticipating the target. Further, activity in the sending hemisphere remains high well after the crossing…”
Such a great song. The Dropkick Murphys do a very respectable cover of it worthy of a listen or two.
“Overall, the findings of the study reignite the discussion on the robustness of the pain pathway’s organization, where multiple mechanisms ensure the persistence of
pain sensation.”

based on our current understanding of consciousness and development/learning do you suspect we would perceive hunger/thirst differently if, from the moment of our birth, we were supplied with adequate nourishment via IV fluids and TPN?
Thank you Prof Hofer

“Resist the urge to find a structural target. Rather, listen carefully, thoughtfully and deeply. Explore their concerns and engage their beliefs. Only once you begin to connect with them on a human level should you start the process of updating their generative model, at a pace of their choosing.”

Analgesia for the Bayesian Brain: How Predictive Coding Offers Insights Into the Subjectivity of Pain
“Ketamine can also alter top-down modulation through psychological dissociation...” Beyond the established anti-nociceptive role opioids play in modulating pain perception, how do we assess the impact of their dissociative effects?

Thanks so much for creating this. Would love to be added.
