a thing they never tell you about being a 24/7 carer while disabled yourself is that everything important seems to slip through your fingers & pass you by while you scramble to keep on top of things every single day
if youβve been waiting on me for a reply, a task, an email, anything, Iβm so sorry.
A comic with two panels. Top: ditto wearing a tie and looking at graphs on a computer titled "I'm tired of looking at the bad lightscreen" Bottom: Ditto playing pokopia on a TV and smiling. "I'm want to go home & look at the good screen" Trxyland signature
The front cover. The background is bright yellow. Across it is a black and white photograph of Angela Davis with a thoughtful look and posture. She is dressed in a short black dress. Framing the photograph are the title and the author name.

This book taught me a lot. A remarkable life of a remarkable woman, and it only covers her younger years. If youβre unfamiliar with Angela Davis and her work as an anti-racism activist, this is an excellent place to start. Powerful as hell.
The front cover, showing a woman admiring gloves on her hands while a man looks on, eager to observe her reaction. Below the image is the author name and the title.

This was a fun yarn of a book. All about the delights and romanticism of shopping and beauty, and the rise of department stores - but a prescient warning about how consumerism can destroy. Enjoyable, however the ending felt rather abrupt to me.
π§΅π Itβs 2026 and you know what that means! π
Hereβs a thread of all the books Iβve read/DNFed this year! Come join me on this journey! π₯°
A google maps view of the area around the Strait of Hormuz, with crude markup showing the 4 steps to successfully clearing the strait: 1. Build up speed 2. Hit Trampoline 3. Cool backflip 4. Nail the landing The boat is illustrated using a clip art yacht, and the trampoline is also just kind of floating there.
wait. wait. everyone hold on. i've solved it
i didn't watch the interview because it's 5 fucking hours but overwatch creators are starting to put out videos about the Blizzard stuff and it's wild to me how much time and effort Jeff Kaplan had to put into managing the clueless money people at Blizzard.
It's incredible to see a digital product using the same shrinkflation trick as physical goods. They didn't technically raise prices, they just lowered the amount of V-bucks you get for the money, so it's easier to miss when buying. An inherently exploitative tactic!
the worst part is we actually made good progress on a lot of the right lessons (given congressional resource constraints) and then it all got blown to hell by the worst people you know
Quick question, does anyone here use a Kobo e-reader? Do you find the font/text options comfortable/accessible for your eyes? (I get migraines easily)
Iβm thinking of trading my old Kindle in for a Kobo, but I wanted to see if anyone here had any recommendations/thoughts π₯°
I think we oughta pay attention to the fact that a good number of posts in the #WhatAGameDevLooksLike tag have:
Iβm not at GDC
And/or
Iβm still/newly looking for work
Let that sink in, really think about it. Especially if you wanna share opinions on devs & the industry.
A screenshot of the accessibility tab in my Bluesky settings, showing the alt text toggled on "require alt text before posting" Btw alt text is also a fun place to shamelessly editorialize on your post and there ain't no character limit. Go ahead and share the Canterbury Tales here plus throw in a random Fuck or Shitass. It's a delightful pastime
Friends, please use Alt Text whenever you post images. It helps those with sight issues understand your sparkling captions & assists those of us who are hopelessly unhip in getting your references. Just toggle it in the settings for a reminder every time you share a bot mot, THANKYOUSOMUCH
CJEU press release: Member State legislation which does not permit the amendment of the gender data of one of its nationals who has exercised his or her right to freedom of movement is contrary to EU law A Bulgarian national was registered at birth as being male, with a name, personal identification number and identity documents corresponding to that sex. She currently lives in Italy, where she has begun hormone therapy, and now presents herself as a woman. She instituted proceedings before the Bulgarian courts seeking a declaration that she is a female person and to have her civil status data amended on her birth certificate. Despite the medical opinions and legal assessments confirming the gender identity claimed, her request was rejected. According to national legislation, as interpreted by the plenary assembly of civil chambers of the Bulgarian Supreme Court of Cassation, the term βsexβ must be understood in its biological sense, excluding any amendment of the particulars relating to sex, name and identification number. The public interest, based on the moral and/or religious values of Bulgarian society, thus prevails over the interests of transgender persons. Hearing the dispute, the Bulgarian Supreme Court of Cassation has doubts as to the compatibility of that legislation with EU law and has referred the matter to the Court of Justice. In its judgment, the Court holds that EU law precludes legislation of a Member State which does not permit the amendment of the gender data in the civil status registers of one of its nationals who has exercised his or her right to move and reside freely in another Member State. The Court emphasises first of all that, while the issue of identity documents falls within the competence of the Member States, they must exercise that competence in compliance with EU law...
Huge trans rights ruling from the EU's top court - if someone moves to another EU country and transitions, their home country can't refuse to amend their registration details to match their lived gender identity
Not a single day goes by that I'm not driven to the brink of howling madness by:
A: Videogames being at their most diverse, creative and overwhelmingly numerous as ever.
B: The gaming press being utterly gutted by vulture capitalists, leaving fewer people than ever to try and understand it all.
100,000 trans people & allies fill central London for Trans Pride.
Mainstream media: nothing
Thousands of trans people & allies fill Wembley Arena for pro-trans gig with massive names like Sophie Ellis-Bextor & Sugarbabes.
Mainstream media: nothing.
This is what extreme media bias looks like.
In the last quarter century the Pentagon literally lost $2.3 *trillion* in its accountong, it has never passed a single audit.
There has *always* been enough money for good things instead of atrocities, it's just that absolutely no one in power in the past quarter century has wanted good things.

Hey. Psst. Yβall are rad. Hydrate your skeletons. Take your meds. Check your posture. Have a snack.
Whatever you need to do today/tonight, I believe in you. No matter how big or small it may be. I hope the week brings joy, relief, laughter, success, coziness. You got this.

I like using social media to learn about cool stuff and say funny things to my friends, but if I stay on here too long all the terrible news going on will kill my spirit. It's like playing catch with a ball that, at any time, can change from a simple baseball to weapons grade uranium.
RIP to an ambitious studio, an undercooked but promising game, and the most unfunny memes since covfefe
"if you don't make the money we start laying people off as punishment" is some like Batman villain shit

Per @ianhamilton.bsky.social β there is a talk that promotes using WCAG for game accessibility. This is an incredibly dangerous sentiment. Those guidelines are not created with video games in mind and are instead oriented to solve web accessibility solutions. Saying otherwise is misinformation.
I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.
State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

I've been issued a court summons from a debt collector seeking repayment for medical debt dating back to 2022, before I was laid off from my last FT job. The required repayment plan is very aggressive (TOO aggressive), so I'm asking for help. Shares appreciated! π«Ά
there is no redemption for any person involved in this at any level.

This might be the worst erotic poetry Iβve ever read, and if I never read the word βpantiesβ in creative literature again, Iβll be profoundly grateful. Itβs not often Iβm so blunt, but this was just bad. Not a fan.
