Creative protest. Love it.
Forest scene with thick snow, painting.
โThe night is darkening round me,
The wild winds coldly blow;
But a tyrant spell has bound me
And I cannot, cannot go.
The giant trees are bending
Their bare boughs weighed with snow.
And the storm is fast descending,
And yet I cannot go.โ ~ E Brontรซ #BookWormSat

Yes nepotism and favouritism! ๐ญ๐คฌ
I voted for Valรฉrie Plante twice. But as someone who lives on the Plateau, I've developped a "somewhat negative opinion" of Luc Rabouin. Can't stomach an Ensemble Montrรฉal win, though.
I press play on a TV series I quite enjoy and immediately grab my phone "just" to answer a few texts. Our brains are not OK.
I'm a sucker for any show or movie about journalism, so I was really looking forward to watching The Lowdown, which stars Ethan Hawke no less. But it's streaming on Disney+, which I had to cancel.
Guys, I've had it with bringing my own bags to the store. I know who I'm voting for! ๐คฃ
๐ฏ What conservatives should be asked every single time they promise to axe taxes ๐ฏ
Donโt look away.
Mark Carney v. Chrystia Freeland: Does Canada want a daddy banker to whip the economy into shape ... which never means caring for the vulnerable? OR does Canada want a feminist mommy to break that glass ceiling and pave the way to ... nothing terribly revolutionary, just kinda different?
Same. Anna Karenina yesterday and today War and Peace.
In Canada we had a postal strike in November and December so we were all officially relieved from the obligation.
All my overseas family and friends are FB and WhatsApp. Also: a few years ago I deleted my FB account, only to bring it back a week later because it was the only way to sign up for a workshop.
Tokyo Vice, is based on the book by an American reporter covering crime for Tokyo's biggest newspaper. Good series, but problematic in terms of his cosy relationships with both cops and yakuza. Also: too much gun violence. Not realistic for Japan.

Writing tip: After you finish, go back & cut all the adverbs. Then all the adjectives. Then all the other words. Eat the paper. Now you're free.
Thank you for proving my point.
Sadly, his continued popularity seems to indicate that Canadians prefer rhymed slogans like "Axe the tax" and "Trudeau Wacko" to policy and facts. ๐ข
I'm trying to use the concept of the "hinge role" from polyamory to explain something about identity in autofiction.
I hope he means it. I'd like to hear a perspective from ethnic and religious minorities.
Please tell me this is a real movie ...
I don't bake much, so I like making easy desserts like this chocolate bark. Semi-sweet chocolate topped with roasted hazelnuts, white chocolate, and salt crystals.

Oh yes! It was--and still is--so disappointing when raisins interrupted the diving texture & flavour of chocolate.
Roasted hazelnuts
I'm making hazelnut chocolate bark and am tempted to add dried cranberries for some festive colour. Yay or Nay? (This may be a divisive issue ๐)
