This weather is decidedly NOT ass.
This weather is decidedly NOT ass.
The temperature doesn't even bother me that much. It's the perpetual grey that just sucks the life out of everything.
This weather is ass. That is all.
It's a...prolific campaign. Seen at least 4 different versions today. Wish I could say it's the craziest thing I've seen or heard today, but it's not even close.
Screencap of a targetted ad from Ziprecruiter featuring characters from the show Severance implying a relationship with the fictional company from the show, Lumon Industries.
Being #OpenToWork in 2025 means targetted ads like this. Appreciate the humor I guess, but not exactly instilling optimism.
Does Bsky do gifs? Can we gif here?
There is still beauty in this world
It's a start, for sure. But leaving "bureaus and offices without senior leadership" seems more like a feature than a bug to this admin.
Thank you Senator Kim! I hope to hear of similar actions out of Senators Slotkin and Peters soon!
No wonder he's so excited to implement them...
Awesome work! The weathering is amazing.
We're liv-ing in A-merri-iiiii-ca. At the end of the Dem-oooo-craaa-cy...
I mean, I didn't really bat an eye at it the first time...
Not that good.
Seeing a lot of talk of leaving this place in light of their latest policy changes to drop fact checking and loosen restrictions on hate speech and other harmful content. Dropping the bird was easy for me--I never really embraced that platform, and had little invested in it. But this space is different. I was on the early side of adopters. My earliest posts here will be old enough to vote this summer! I have so many thoughts, photos, memories and connections that are intertwined with this place. So many fleeting friendships made that have been able to continue and in some cases flourish because of the interactions here. And it is a major aggregator for me of not just news of what's happening in the world, but more specifically, things and events going on in the niche worlds that I'm personally interested in. Music, arts, sports... So many opportunities and things that I've experienced I would not have even known about if not for this place. And let's not forget how critical this place is to the success of many small businesses and organizations that are trying to make our real life communities a better place for us all. For all it's many, many warts, this space has on the whole, been a net positive in my personal life and I don't think it's close, although i acknowledge that balancing that against the overall detriment it's had to society is difficult to measure. So I'm not sure what the future holds. I would like to believe that the value of any online community like this is in its members. Their thoughts, their connections. Theoretically, you could then move the community to another platform and continue unbroken, but the reality is that it's a fragile thing. Communities will be fractured, missing pieces that didn't make the jump. And the collective history intertwined with the platform will be lost. I guess my hope is that we can persevere and make this place what we want it to be despite these policy changes. Be the change you want to see, as the age oโฆ
Posted this recently to my FB feed. It's by no means meant as a defense of Zuck. But I haven't stuck around there this long because if him. I will continue to grow my presence here on bsky, but so far, it's no replacement for what I've built on FB. Just my $.02 (full text in alt text)
Ah yes, OSU's kryptonite. Go Blue! #hookem
I take some satisfaction in that lyric being the only reason I, and probably many my age and younger, would even know her name. History remembers. It's also good at forgetting.
This, 100%
Yup!
Sherrone Moore ages takes so well I'm worried he might get poached if the Cheez-It guy gets canned.
Telegram sent by author Dorothy Parker to Robert Benchley on December 31st 1929. Text reads. You come right over here and explain why they are having another year.
Happy New Year from Dorothy Parker (and me).
Alabama *and* Kalen DeBoer have lost to Michigan twice in the same calendar year.
Preet Bharara, you rascal!
Gingerbread man shaped sugar cookie, decorated with dark pants, a receding hairline, bare feet, and a blood soaked white tank top--Bruce Willis's iconic John McClain from Die Hard.
Yeah, i went there... #yippekiyaycookiecutter
I keep a thing of chapstick in my top desk drawer. Today I realized I also keep a thing of superglue that's about the same size and shape as chapstick...
Public service announcement: when a rep or senator says something, they literally have the same info you do from the same sources.
We always pretended to have special knowledge, but rarely did.
Keep that in mind with the drone hysteria
So excited to be participating (as a Motawi staff 'spouse') in this awesome little artist market again! It's in its second year, and the first one was amazing!

Interesting. I suspect this becomes a growth area of research (and conflict).
Guess 5 and Zvbada was enough!
