All of these are stylized somewhat differently, doing the outlines in different ways and using more or less saturated palettes depending on the artstyle. Please remember that the kart is a sprite from the Ring Racers game and I did not make it, only used it as a base to work with!

It's Mar10 Day, and that seems as good a reason as any to post a thread of the notable Super Mariology studies I've been doing on Thrilling Tales of Old Video Games.

First up: SMB2 was made *after SMB3. That's why it looks better.

A small diorama I made to celebrate Mario day last year, it's a mix of 2D pixelart sprites and lowpoly 3D. The style is both inspired by Super Mario World and NSMB DS, you can see Mario jumping and destroying a block while a goomba is surprised.
