Brandon is a real one. I'm so glad you were able to give it a try! Thank you for the kind words. π

Thanks for giving it a try and sharing your thoughts! that's definitely a recurring comment I've received about combat. In an effort to try to keep it engaging I halved cooldowns across the board, but I think I need to revisit that. Again, appreciate you taking the time, this is helpful.
Played some of that @starlessumbra.com
You'd think by presentation it'd be something like Secret of Mana 2 but the systems feel more like a PS2 title. A lot of systems, a lot of minigames. Very fun. Worth following, I think.

This is starting to feel less like a weird forever solo project and more of a collaboration with some seriously passionate and talented artists. Less "I" and more "we".
Huge thank you to @sako.works for the help with all the portraits and general interface designing/suggestions.
@fjlink.bsky.social improved a lot of the earlier spritework and added so much more polish to the character animations.
And of course, Brandon has been blowing me away with the OST.
Hey #gamedev, wanted to share an updated trailer for our couch co-op action RPG. Lots of polish went into this last year! We'll be doing playtests later this week.
Fran has really helped take this game's animations to the next level. I'm so excited to see how things shape up this year.
my co-op jrpg, starless umbra, in #15seconds
I'm in this one! Don't blink.

wishlisted the heck outta this one
can't handle the fang π³
I almost thought this was my setup. You're just missing the double quartet shelving.

(sorry I kinda blasted thru it to keep the video under 100mb)

ty!! I also have Zerra's Adventure on mine. π I get the feeling you might have also been inspired by RPG Maker 2003. (I may be imagining things but I think I hear some of the RTP sound effects in your trailer?)
It looks great!
At a glance I'm not sure what is or isn't unlocked. You could almost get away with removing the "skill unlocked" confirmation message and juicing up the effect on the icon itself, having a lock shatter or something. Just some ideas, it's solid as-is already.

Preorders will ship with other goodies like scratch & sniff stickers and postcards!

I've been excited to announce this one.
Preorders are open for starless umbra t-shirts! I'll drop a link below, thanks for looking. π
Congrats, guys! The talking animals remind me of SoulBlazer so much. Looks great!
I like to do these periodic dream sequences, I feel they're a staple in the genre. Hopefully the parallax effect isn't too forced?

Congrats! I recognized your art straight away! π
this battle music is so catchy!
Ready for garbage day! π«‘
Excited for this one! Good luck with the release grind.
Love seeing 2k3 on my timeline! Looking out for this one. π
(game looks cool and excited to see more tho!)
There's definitely a beauty to pixel animations, this shortcuts it and breaks the pixel illusion/grid. Though looking at the rest of your screens you can probably get away with it, my preference for sprites this wonderful would be to hand-animate, though I realize that might not be totally feasible.
I'm definitely a sucker for card games π
The game looks great! Limitations breed creativity and RM can do a lot, but breaks are also good. Looking forward to a demo. π
