Karianne Lisonbee just jumped into the race in UT-2, challenging Rep. Blake Moore for the GOP nomination.
She's blasting Moore for his work to put Prop. 4 on the ballot in 2018, which led to a judge implementing a new congressional map last year.

She announced she's not running for the legislature last year.
As I first reported last week, Rep. Karianne Lisonbee is running for Congress in the 2nd District against Rep. Blake Moore.

MAGA influencer Nick Shirley, best known for peddling unverified claims of fraud, is headlining the Salt Lake County GOP's $10K-a-table fundraiser next week.
They booked Shirley after their first choice, Kari Lake, backed out.

I'm old enough to remember when David Robinson, who is four inches taller than Barron, served on active duty in the Navy after graduating from the Naval Academy.
Utah Rep. Trevor Lee didn't write an immigration "hot take" last week.
He copy-pasted a white nationalist screed and slapped his name on it.
And this wasn't a one-off. Lee has been increasingly borrowing vocabulary from the far-right fringes.

The Salt Lake County Republican Party has booked βindependent journalistβ Nick Shirley to speak at their Lincoln Day Dinner.
Shirley is the Kristi Noem of journalism. Everything about him is superficial and fake. How embarrassingβ¦for them.
I wonder how much his speaking fee is.
Utah Republican legislators rushed a bill to potentially split up Salt Lake County at the last second.
The last "yes" vote landed five seconds too late.

Utah's GOP congressional field is finally taking shape, and there's some real movement.
Karianne Lisonbee is gearing up to challenge Blake Moore.
Celeste Maloy reverses her "convention only" strategy after Phil Lyman jumps in the race.

After a week of frustration, I finally was able to grab tickets to see Metallica at Sphere.
Unfortunately, the show isn't until March 2027.
Video from the building across from the BBC News offices.
THIS is the setup I need.
Phil Lyman is running for Congress...and he has a real shot at winning.

President Donald Trump says DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is out.
She's being replaced by Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin per Axios.

He has a legitimate shot to win the GOP nomination.
Phil Lyman just jumped into Utahβs 3rd District, setting up a sharp fight with Rep. Celeste Maloy.
A new map and favorable convention math give him a legitimate path to victory.

Turning Point Action: Alliance of Sovereign Nations MARCH 4 - 6 WASHINGTON D.C. The Alliance of Sovereign Nations will bring together business, political, academic, and other societal leaders from around the world for an impactful and informative event focused on issues affecting the world.
[Turning Point Action logo] MISSION STATEMENT The nation-state is fundamental to international partnership, prosperity and peace. It provides the essential bedrock of freedom and self-government. The byproduct is economic opportunity and therefore security. Every country has a rightful obligation to defend its sovereignty and put their interests first. The world is more stable when each nation prioritizes its people's interests. Likewise, the United States will advance our interests first, while encouraging other nations to do the same. We stand for the sovereign rights of nations, against the authoritarian overreach of transnational institutions, and for reforming global organizations so that they respect national identity and help-not hinder-the innate interests of freedom-seekers everywhere.
TPUSA (Action) is hosting a new annual D.C. event over the next few days called Alliance of Sovereign Nations. Featured guests include some truly awful U.S. officials like Randy Fine, Eli Crane, and Mike Johnson and also members of the far-right Freedom Party of Austria and Alternative for Germany.
Utah GOP Congressman Burgess Owens is tapping out.

Needed to hit update on the story.
That's been fixed.
In honor of Rep. Trevor Lee going 0 and 12 for bills during the 2026 Legislature, I have composed this haiku:
Twelve bills, all dead now
Even your party said no
Ha ha, I can't breathe
On her website, she used to describe herself as a βworldwide parenting phenomenon and leader.β
Sources say Utah Congressman Burgess Owens will likely retire rather than seek a 4th term. That move reshuffles Utah's GOP congressional board.
Utah's new map could turn into an incumbent knife fight...and who runs in Salt Lake County's new D+12 district?

Probably. Iβm told they canβt find a Senate sponsor.
But, if it passes, it will be her bill, not his.
Itβs official, Rep. Trevor Lee did not get a single bill he sponsored through this session.
He went 0-for-12.
