2026 in a nutshell.

Was my weak kind of lousy because Friday the 13th was waiting for me at the end of it?

Was my bad fortune somehow diluted since Sunday?

All of this could be rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I don’t know. Only job I ever got from LinkedIn was from networking, never from an application.

But people DO go there when they’re trying to figure out who they’re dealing with sometimes. So why not?

I also dropped two jobs I worked from 2002-2008 and 2008-2009, even though they were big name companies. I don’t know if those roles reflect my current narrative anymore.

And they make me look old.

Got a wild hair last night and decided to update my LinkedIn. Decided adding the part-time jobs I’m working along with the small business I’m trying to get off the ground looked better than “independent consultant.”

I need Conan to host SNL *yesterday*.

It’ll be interesting to see how this is different from Owen Wilson in “Stick.”

I had someone on LinkedIn congratulate me for my “one year anniversary of being an Independent Contractor!”

I know they meant well, but it wasn’t exactly my choice.

I don’t want to look like an unfinished coloring book. Any tattoo I got would still be modest and intentional.

I’ve probably circled these thoughts on and off for the better part of 25 years.

I’ve been thinking about tattoos lately. I don’t have anything particular in mind. But the reason I never got one in the past was because I felt like it needed to be “perfect” and lasting.

Now I’m starting to think it could just be whatever.

I was actually thinking about this a little more today and I think it would be cool if they spent the day saving people in small ways and complimenting each other with how nice and friendly the other one is.
