This Modern World comic by Tom Tomorrow. Its 6 frames feature a man called the Counter-Intuitivist, who says things like "Oil spills...are *good* for the environment!" "Restricting abortion...*increases" abortion rights!" "The best way to control guns...is to *not* control guns!" "If you want to regulate Wall Street...you must *eliminate* regulations!" And "Cute kittens...are actually not cute at *all*!" One guy responds, "That makes no sense", to which the Counter-Intuitivist says, "Can't keep up, eh? Your loss, tiny brain!" One woman says, re the kittens, "Consider *my* mind blown." In the final frame, the Counter-Intuitivist says, "Iraq was this nation's greatest foreign policy success!", to which a new character, the *Counter*-Counter-Intuitivist, replies, "*If* you discount the triumph of *Vietnam*!" The Counter-Intuitivist says, "Gasp! His contrarianism... stronger than mine... mustn't give up... Unless it would be the most counter-intuitive thing to do!"
At least toddler contrarianism shows imagination and sincerity. The toxic adult version reminds me of @tomtomorrow.bsky.social's Counter-Intuitivist
