LJ’s book, Still Alive. The cover has a red cat skull on a yellow square. A pink square bottom left has the title and author’s name. A green square bottom right has disembodied monkey hands.
I think it’s more important for a book or film to enter people’s lives over time, than in it is for it to get a lot of attention at once.
So if you want to read my book, now is also good. It’s fine if it has been a couple years since it came out.

What a beautiful piece of writing. When I was in grad school, Rick Bass was a writer whose work convinced me short fiction was worth dedicating years to learn.
This isn't fiction, but Bass is never better than when illuminating the majesty of the natural world.

the “Dudes Rock” of AWP Bookfair tables
The malarkey table is entirely writer-run. These guys loaded the books in, organized two readings, are running the table, promoting each others book’s and the books of the writers who can’t be at awp, and are keeping a spreadsheet so I can track everyone’s royalties. Amazing crew. Go visit them!
