you'd think so, wouldn't you!! π
Additionally, I fail to see how that reasoning would even work with an event account anyway, since most of what's being posted is related to an event taking place and describing the information in said images for said event
I keep saying this, but if you can afford to spend resources on getting a fursuit of your eventβs mascot, but you cannot be bothered to even provide basic accessibility provisions like consistent alt text usageβ¦ yeah it shows how shallow your eventβs accessibility and inclusion policies are.
yep spot on! π
I appreciate there was an attempt here, but this ALT text is completely useless to anyone who needed it. Can you figure out why?

If you think "oh this is just a little thingy, it serves no purpose". you're thinking about it wrong.
If you're using a screen reader, all you hear is "Image" when you focus an image with no ALT text. Even if it's just the logo, you can still put in the ALT text "[company] logo".
It should be included on every image, I really struggle to understand why it's complicated.
Banner image? Type the text in the banner.
Poster? Briefly describe the imagery and add any text in from the image.
Letterhead? Copy paste the entire letter in.
If it's not decoration, describe it.
Donβt be shy, she loves it!

No Alt text
exactly!!! it takes all of two mins, if that
No.
Alt text has been a thing on websites since the web 2.0 days, it's been a feature of Microsoft Office since 2003, possibly earlier.
Alt text is so that e.g. people using screen readers, can understand what's in the image. (Otherwise they just hear "image")
Please read up on this I beg
Furry cons and larger furry meets cannot claim to be serious about inclusivity, if they cannot be bothered to use alt text properly on their social media
This should not be a hot take
Just use alt text
Another week starts, the train doggo has to get the trains running on time.

It's also funny that it says to touch your smartcard flat on the reader, when there's a card slot holder thing over the top of the reader
