I wonder how often people comment on her name. Maybe she goes by Aly, or Addy. Or maybe people are just used to such things in this universe.

Graphic titled βWe think people using mobility aids should be allowed to get away from danger at running speedβ A young woman using a manual wheelchair with a power attachment is under a streetlight in the dark. There are a group of people standing just outside the light, looking threatening or at least intimidating. The womanβs eyes are wide with fright. At the bottom, hashtag MobilityJustice and the Wheels for Wellbeing logo
All Disabled people should be legally able to speed up to "running" or "cycling"-equivalent speeds to get out of danger, whatever mobility devices we're using, at all times of day and night, and wherever we are travelling.

That's the thing about headaches, isn't it? MOST of the time they're nothing serious.

...History - real, non-AI-imagined history - is fascinating & wild & far more shocking & full of incident than any novelist could possibly imagine. It's full of inspiration and it changes the way you view the modern world. It's not something to skip in favor of Google AI's lies! It's the GOOD stuff.
I mean, I wouldn't want it deciding, say, when/how bins were collected, but I feel like for big-picture issues there are much worse perspectives to take on board.

Are more audiobooks going the audio drama route these days, then? I was under the impression having one person narrating was still standard.
Crude oil prices, showing a very sharp increase in the last day, from around 65 to 101 dollars per barrel..
Oil prices wouldn't be all over the news today if more of our economy was powered by local, secure renewable energy.
This isn't an "energy crisis". It's a fossil fuel crisis.
44% of UK electricity came from renewables in 2025. More of that plus an electrified economy => no more oil shocks.
They tried VERY HARD to find a way in which this "'new'" format was completely different. They failed. π Like, audio drama is an amazing artform which works great! I heartily endorse new examples! But know the heritage, kids.
Some years back, I managed to *horrify* a young person at a convention by responding to their exciting gushing about a "revolutionary" new "audio narrative experience" with a casual "Back in the day, we used to call those 'radio plays'."
(I'm 32, which is sufficient to pass as ancient.)
I feel like it's going to be difficult for computers to figure out human trauma. And so many of us are bundles of trauma. π And those of us who are, are probably who'd benefit from AI help the most. So... get figuring, AIs. π€ππ¬

This is one of those times where a prompt nudged a story already lurking in my mind to take proper form - while I was very happy with the prequel story, I didn't want to leave things there, y'know?

I rarely write romance, because as an aroace psychopath it's something I really don't understand. ππ
But sometimes a story wants to be a romance, and I try my best. Constructive feedback welcome!

When youβre living with chronic illness, your body calls the shots.
It doesnβt matter how hard you try.
It doesnβt matter how badly you βwantβ to do something.
Thereβs time when your body will say βNoβ.
Youβre no longer in control and it can be devastating.
It's what I want, when I go. Then use me to water/fertilise a cool tree. π³

I've gotten several on my daily microfictions. π Why no, random stranger who JUST subscribed to me, I don't have beta readers for these tiny fictions I write and immediately post. Thank you for asking. Enjoy your complementary block.
Actually, fuck it, I've gone ahead and made a moderation list from it

I can't go back.
My experience is that it's an AMAZING handheld games console, and a temperamental gaming computer. π Desktop mode is getting better but I use it only when I have to.
I might have to return to that scifi story, tho...
I thought about writing something realistic. And then I thought about a scifi story where one planet still uses working dogs because "robots can't see ghosts". And then I ended up writing this.

This is one of those pieces which ended up being REALLY short but any attempt to expand it felt like padding so... hopefully it's enough to tell the story?

I mean, I assume "delivery success" involves the passenger not getting injured, so 100% *should* be a very reassuring success rate... but I understand it's hard to do maths while holding onto your stomach.

here's what kind folks have been saying:
"Ah, this was beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes. Maybe because I name all my plants πΏ"
"This made me weepy π₯Ί Love the art style, and amazing narrative and worldbuilding for such a short game. Absolutely loved everything about it!"
"Professor Jacob George is recused from *further* involvement on the Pathways clinical trial as a precaution.β
Am pleased they admit he was involved. But you can't cure bias after the fact and our lawyers will be writing to the MHRA about its ascientific 'concerns' about the trials.
