A screenshot of an online convo 1st person - a girl I was dating once asked me what I liked about her. I rattled off a list, super easy, gave her a kiss, and smiled. She nodded, took a breath, and asked me” What do you like about that that’s not in service to you?” This question rocked me and is one I think most men should ask themselves about any woman they’re seriously interested in. Response- Respectfully, men need to ask themselves this about women in general, not just women they’re interested in. Patriarchy teaches men to believe women exist for them. Like women are just waiting around for the next man to need/want something from us so we can be who he wants us to be. A smiling face, a listening ear, someone to consume. Seeing women this way is dehumanizing. Until a man can see the full of humanity in women as a Collective, he should be focused on therapy not dating.
