Orthoconic cephalopod fossils (likely nautiloids, Orthocerida) preserved in a marine limestone slab.
These Paleozoic cephalopods (~400 Ma) are early relatives of modern squid and octopus, belonging to the same class (Cephalopoda), before the evolution of reduced or internal shells.

These guys were in the right place and time with ideas and funding to make unprecedented fortunes, but they grossly equate the size of their fortunes to some imaginary level of knowledge and brilliance.
