I’ll post about our Friday show this week & next but I just abandoned my LCS after waiting 2hrs with no response to fulfill my FOC obligations and months of frustration. I’m depressed, exhausted, and feel pointless.

Is it even worth making these videos that only get 100-300 views and only a few likes on BlueSky? Takes 1-2 hours to make each video. Feels like I should just abandon social media except for the YouTube Friday shows. Or maybe I’m just depressed. Been anhedonic for a very long time. 🤷🏻♂️
They filmed scenes in the store and moved not that long after. I lived down here when the events that happened in the movie was happening in my real life cause it was based on a true story. I knew those kids it was based on. Coral Springs sucked in the 90’s.
Not pissed. Just weird behavior where you post and delete on my page some insulting things sometimes. I don’t have feelings anymore, so it’s impossible to hurt them. I don’t get the motivation.
Yup. Whole first several series. Dropped off around volume 5 or 6 cause, well. I hate reboots.

I placed the FOC. Worst thing that can happen to an LCS is ordering FOC & not picking up books. I still plan on picking up whatever he deems fit to give me and run to a second shop for the rest. BUT, if he wants to play games then I’ll tell him today is the final day I get books from him.
Tate’s exists because of his father Tony, RIP, who helped his son at the Coral Springs Mall (now defunct) comic shows & getting a lease on the 1st shop. Tate has great business & communication skills. His wife Amanda knows the art world. They promote shows and philanthropy. Shops like that are rare.

I’ve always liked Tate’s. I knew Tate before he changed locations after the 90’s Harmony Korine film, Bully. Everything is FMV, there’s a huge selection, it’s like the Wal-mart of comics and collectibles. Unfortunately, it’s 60mikes north of me and in Miami weekday traffic takes 2+ hours to get to.
Between the end of volume 1 of Uncanny and the beginning of HoX/PoX, the only decent X-Men run was by Tom Taylor. Editorial did everything they could to tank X sales to pump up Inhumans. It’s like running a marathon and pulling a snub nose gun and shooting yourself in the kneecap before the finish.
Oh, I’m still on Jed McKay & Gail Simone on their X-Men. I’m not bothering with all the new # 1’s. Krakoa was fantastic! Then it spiraled out of control and now they’re trying to bring back the 90’s. I’m not touching those. Got skipped on Infernal Hulk 3 & missed 2 North FF’s. Ryan North is amazing!
Once, nearly every book at the top of my To Read pile every week was the Marvel books. Last couple years, it’s all DC books I can’t wait to read at the top. I’ll still pick up Marvel for finishing runs but I stopped reading most. If Marvel reboots with a new # 1, I’M OUT! Also… NO. MORE. MUTANTS.
And the funny thing is, when A&M is short books, he asks my shop if he can help. He would NEVER do the same in return. I know because he hasn’t.
I enjoyed talking with him and other customers. I thought he appreciated my business. I did a lot of favors. I was wrong. That somewhere is now here:

I went there from 2015-2019. After I saw a guy bring in a stack of comics, Jorge offered $100 to the guy. I saw an Action Comics 242 and he said he’ll figure out pricing. A week later, he said $2k. That was my first grievance for how he’s sketchy. It got so much worse from there. He’s a crook.
Doing these kinds of videos and trying to lure in lapsed collectors, new collectors and old, that’s what keeps me going right now. It’s always been about keeping the passion of comics alive!
I’m a creature of habit. I’ve been doing NCBD in person for almost 40 years. I’m AuDHD, so it was also the dopamine scavenger hunt getting the books day of release. Now that I know myself better, I’d rather get by mail and get everything than wonder constantly what’s missing.
It’s a learning curve. I placed one big order for $228 but it won’t ship until the latest book arrives on 4/15. So it’s best to order books per cut off date. So 4/1/26 books should be one order, 4/8 should be another, and so forth. I do Patreon for the discount, too, since I order a lot.
Yup. I won’t deal with MidTown, where you’re just a number, or Amazon. Billy at EconomicsinComics is a staple in the comic community on YouTube. He’s a small business I can’t wait to start getting books from.
He can’t sue me over objective comments on YouTube. He talks shit about EVERYONE the second they leave the shop. You learn a lot about how someone speaks about you by how they speak about others. There’s nothing more powerful than elevating others. Some never come to understand that.
Thank you. My last name is Worst, so I try my best to respect everyone. I know some stuff, we’re all still learning, even if we collect for 40+ years. I want people excited about new & old comics. We NEED the new blood. We also need to stand up for what’s right. New readers won’t know, otherwise.
Judging by my complete lack of posting random books on BlueSky daily, I lost A LOT of interest in comics in general over this fiasco. Frustration causes lack of interest and I love this hobby. One neglectful shop did that. Hoping Billy helps reignite my passion. Feel dead inside lately.
When did eBay become a cheaper option for older book than an LCS? Short of Top 10 books, you can almost always find things cheaper there. I’ll be okay targeting specific books online over whatever Fine+ copies he has lying around in huge stacks. Went through the 5 stages of loss.
