Electronic shifting on my bicycle, allowing my carpel tunnel/trigger finger hands damaged from a lifetime of using them to painlessly shift into different gears. Water-filter straws. Photographs of Philip Guston paintings on my phone, in my pocket. Sunblock.
Great shot. Almost looks like high speed Ektachrome Infrared stock from the 90s.
Such a bummer. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has been through that intersection on a bike hundreds of times. It’s like there’s a bizarre exception to our laws, where if you die on a bike no deeper investigation occurs. RIP.
When the rains start I think about high desert bike trips.
Today is the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Dachau. My dad, a survivor, used to talk about seeing the Statue of Liberty for the first time as he approached it on a ship.
Before & after. 80 years ago today Dachau was liberated by the US Army. My dad Charles Anolik; Survivor, Husband, Father, Mensch.
